COMM ID:Ensign Alan Polstari TARGET ID:Primary Fleet Command HQ SUBJECT:Encounters on Patrol ENCRYPTION:High PRIORITY:Medium
Greetings sirs,
I began my patrol from the Missouri today. Going over the intel reports for the day, I noted that a Nomad K'Hara vessel was operating in Liberty space. Setting out to investigate, I found that several of the secondary fleet vessels were already engaged in its persuit in the Pennsylvania system, so I joined them there. The target's actions took us through to California and eventually to the Kansas system. Having made sure that the target was not slipping through to Virginia, I joined the LNS-Olympia, a Dreadnaught, in Kansas. While we did not engage the creature, which appeared to be a minor vessel, the Olympia traced it back to a gate of unknown origin. The creature made it through, and the Olympia wisely chose to not persue the target into unknown space. I arrived and found the structure myself, though it didn't register on my Neural Map. I'm including an encrypted file below, with the reference point being the Virginia entrance. This is quite literally right in our back yard, sirs.
Several other items of note include the engagement and destruction of a Scylla Destroyer by the Olympia. There was a freelancer who appeared to be operating a cloaking device in California, as well. I can supply the evidence with relation to the freelancer if required, though. I did warn him that he should not operate such a device in Liberty space, but his expressed opinion seemed less than enthusiastic about it. There was also a Junker by the name of Brennus who slipped past to Rochester carrying what was reported to be Cardamine. My first contact was his reporting of a pirate vessel by the name of Joker at the California gate. While I was considering my response, I saw Brennus swing wide past Manhattan, and then the arrival of the Joker. The Joker was a simple CSV carrying no contraband, while a secondary Navy pilot managed a scan of Brennus and declared that Brennus was carrying contraband. No visual evidence was obtained, unfortunately, but I include this as a reference in case Brennus is seen again.
Finally, I would like to report an incident that occurred near Planet Mojave as I was about to end my patrol. I received a distress call from a vessel I had just met at West Point while I was getting ready to complete my patrol back at the Missouri. I responded and arrived to see a fighter with mining papers identified as IMG-EJY shooting at the civilian. I ordered the vessel to cease and desist several times, which the the IMG finally complied with. Cutting off its attempt to leave without explanation, I fined the vessel 1.5 million and ordered it to head off to Cortez so that its pilot could think about his actions. We had made it to Planet Los Angeles, when the IMG-EJY broke and ran on cruise back towards the New York system. I laned ahead several times in an attempt to cut it off, and managed to make it to the New York gate ahead of it. While I take no pride in it, I burned the vessel on the spot for fleeing from me and disobeying a lawful order. I picked up the pilot and returned to the Missouri. I'm including our discussion log below, as well as pointing out the pilot's threat against myself while in captivity.
