Recruit Rivers here
After receiving reports of fighting in the California system commodore Caruthers requested the border wing I am assigned to to be on standby for primary fleet assistance. I launched and met captain Malrone in Newyork who was under attack by independant Rheinland craft.
As soon as I approached and asked if the captain required assis tance, I was attcked by one fo the rheinland craft. Since I flew an uphlder bomber and the attacking craft was a nimble Wraith rheinland fighter, I did not fight back and instead dived into cover fire from a nearby cruiser.
What I found disturbing is that both rheinland ships appeared to have weapons of unknown origin installed. I took a passive scan to be sure and am uploading the guncam image.
Sir Levine arrived and assisted the captain drawing one of the two hostile craft away but soon afterwards the captain's ship went off ina fireball. We could tractor his pod in fortunately. Sir Levine continued to battle the rheinland craft and eventually they left again.
Afterwards, sir levine took me on a patrol through California and introduced me to the system of Alberta. On our way back we received reports from a lane in California being under attack and we moved into position. A number of ships were there but upon arrival split up.
I myself was with the group that had a gunboat as target and after being cleared for attack patterns, I moved in on the gunboat. Having taken several hits from a nearby cruiser the gunboat was damaged and retreating. I just got a lucky hit with the bomber cannon.
Once that was said and done sir Levine introduced me to another system called Kansas where he explained the dangers of it to me. After that we parted ways and I returned to the Mississippi where I reported to the briefing room for debriefing.
This is my report to you, as per the commodore's request.
