Ensign Rivers here,
After arriving at Westpoint academy and meeting the new recruit Daniel Stevenson, we were sent out to patrol California by Lt. Teerin because there were reports of a squad of pirate bombers.
We arrived in California and found the bombers after some searching. However, they stood down when caught and told us they were just leaving house space and had no interest in causing trouble, credits or whatso ever.
Since one of them had liberty navy pilots in their cargo hold I asked them to hand these pilots over as a token of good will. They complied.
Then, LPI Officer Tal.Ravis fined them - and again they complied. At this point I had reasonable doubts that they were infact out for trouble, although of course they could just play nice this time.
At any rate after they handed over the pilots, paid the LPI-fine and stated they were just wanting to leave, I decided to escort them out.
And we did the journey was uneventful. The last we saw of the pirate bomber squad was them entering Coronado jumphole.
However our day should not conclude just yet, because on our way back we met a CFH bomber that had Liberty Rogue IFF. Of course we stopped and tried to catch it to question it as to what it was doing here.
The pilot was not really cooperative and only when caught began to speak to us.
When we asked it what it wanted here, it decided to try and run again. We of course tried to ask it again and involve it into a conversation, but the rogue pilot did not react and continued fleeing. At this point recruit Stevenson correctly mentioned that it would be appropriate to attack the bomber now and I agreed.
However! Only minutes later at first one Reaver and then another Reaver showed up and helped the CFH Liberty Rogue bomber. At first I was surprised but recruit Stevenson said that it was well known that the Reavers were slaves to the Rogues.
The Reavers of course, denied this and claimed their reasoning to attack us the bounty on Liberty Navy ships.
Then fighting began, but I would not feel the need any further on the situation anyways. With the two reavers and the rogue bomber attacking recruit Steveson and myself we felt we should retreat to the nearby battleship at planet Los Angeles. The Reavers followed us at first but then kept their distance as they began to get caught up in the battleship flak-fire.
Two bounty hunters joined us later and fighting continued nearby planet Los Angeles.
I was very hesitant to attack the Reavers as I saw how shaky my aim had become in the time I was not flying. The recruit Stevenson deserves a mention of commendment because while I had to sit out at the battleship near Los Angeles, he boldly attacked two reavers and a rogue bomber. On his own.. in his recruit craft.
Eventually though he too had retreat to the battleship, but not before he fought off the CFH Rogue bomber and caused it flee the scene. Both recruit Stevenson and myself sat at the battleship then and the bounty hunters continued fighting the reavers. At one point the bounty hunters voiced their concerns about us not attacking the reavers any longer in a very rude manner before they too disengaged.
Then one of the Reavers left the scene and then recruit Stevenson landed. Then the other reaver left the scene and lastly I landed too.
