Good day, Captain Christopher Edwards of the Secondary Fleet reporting in.
Today was a rather interesting day. We had reports of some Insurgency scouts sighted on California, region Echo-6, so the Akhetaten launched from Riverside to see what's happening. Our cloaking devices were on and we were investigating the Whitney Ice Field when we came across two Insurgency Navy Primary Fleet overlords, the Enterprise and the Discovery. Our only available backup at the time was a Battlecruiser, namely LNS-Rain, and a few snubcrafts along with a gunboat, so we decided to retreat back to California Minor and await more forces.
Soon, The Experimental Atlantis-class Powell arrived along with a number of Naval ships. The Akhetaten once again engaged her cloaking device and we headed out back into the Whitney Ice Field to scout on the enemy capital ships. The two Overlords were still impulsing on relatively the same location. After informing Powell and the rest of our forces, they begun their approach. We made sure they god ahead of us before decloaking, letting the enemy know of our presence in the last few minutes before the fight broke out. Just a few minutes in, an Insurgency Secondary Fleet Arbiter, tagged Delusion approached on Powell's port-side flank. The Powell was clearly unable to take all hits from the two Overlords and the Arbiter, so the Akhetaten positioned herself in such a way that the Arbiter's shots collided with us instead. Just a few moments later the Arbiter switched targets, now being a direct threat to us. Thankfully, however, we were able to take down the Arbiter with relative ease after Powell could turn towards it too.
We then once again turned towards the Enterprise and the Discovery. At that point our forces were being overrun by bombers, it was clear to us that we could not escape. Our only option was to take as many of them down as possible. Unfortunately, the Powell took some heavy damage while the Akhetaten was still out of range and unable to assist. When we finally were in range, we were under fire by both Overlords. By then we had already lost an Overlord of our own, Navy~Dragonteeth, and the Akhetaten was alone with a Battlecruiser, LNS-Rain. Said battlecruiser managed to put some heavy damage on the Discovery along with us. I didn't want to lose more ships so I ordered the Interdictor to disengage, being sure to have the shut down, however it was too late. Enterprise, the second Overlord, managed to take down Rain in time, and we lost yet another ship. At that point Powell had retreated for repairs, and we were the only ship against the two Overlords and a couple of bombers, it was clear what this would lead to.
We managed to take down Discovery, after which I tried to activate the cloaking device and leave, in vain. I ordered that all escape pods launch, the Akhetaten was temporarily put out of action, but it was nothing too serious. I was later informed by Captain Robinson that the attack ended on a significant win for our side. It was good to see that our efforts didn't go to waste, we definitely showed the Insurgency the power of the Akhetaten on that fight.
