Regarding this battleship, the Cassus Belli ;
I was not aware that this vessel was given permission to stay within Liberty. Please question the captain of the vessel about his motives, being assertive of our position but not agressive. A confrontation with such a warship is not desirable. Please put your findings here. Also, insist that the captain must drydock his vessel on Norfolk shipyard for two days whilst our technicians inspect the entire ship. A vessel of that size could easily be carrying some heavy ordinance, something that we cannot risk.
However, I have something of a lighter note to say to members of the main arm of the Liberty Navy.
Regarding promotions of various officers ;
In order of rank, the promotions are as follows:
Lieutenant Commander Alexander Casero has become a Commander and now holds the Quartermaster title.
Lieutenant Commander William Darkmoor has become a Commander. The battle for this position was close between Jack Malrone and yourself, but your dedication, and in particular, your Liberty Conventions draft document, won over the high command.
Lieutenant Hank Kapinos has become a Lieutenant Commander.
Lieutenant Ben Dawson has become a Lieutenant Commander. However, this comes under a proviso. Despite your exemplary combat skill, it has been noted by high command that you seem to question orders, at times passively encouraging insubordination. If this problem alleviates itself, you will keep your new position.
Sub-Lieutenant Andrew Dogget has become a Lieutenant.
Sub-Lieutenant Shade Walker has become a Lieutenant.
Sub-Lieutenant Kentaurus Toliman has become a Lieutenant.
There is also a bit of catchup work to be done, and as such, the following promotions have been finalised as listed below:
Ensign Logan Willows has been promoted to Sub-Lieutenant. I will be watching you closely, and if I hear another joke about me or any of my body parts, there will be severe repercussions.
Ensign Tom Preager has been promoted to Sub-Lieutenant.
Congratulations, gentlemen. Enjoy your promotions, but remember, with more power comes more responsibility. We expect great things of all of you, as we have always done.
Connected with this, a few pilots have been put under reserve status for various reasons.
Pending a report frome each of these pilots as to their current status, level of activity within the Liberty Navy and the fulfillment of their duties, which we note is currently not happening, the following pilots have been placed in the reserve list:
David Hastings - Captain
Of note, your responsibility of Quartermaster has been shifted to Commander Casero.
