COMM ID: [color=#99FFFF]Lieutenant Jane Hartman TARGET ID:Liberty Forces Reporting Centre SUBJECT:New York Incursions. ENCRYPTION:Low PRIORITY:Low
Sirs, Ma'ams.
[color=#CCCCCC]Hartman here, back in the cockpit. Patrol began with the destruction of the Hellfire Legion ship Libertine by massed Dreadnought fire. By the time my Liberator arrived, the fight was just about winding up, though the Libertine's escort; Ven'Gyr evaded detection.
Following Libertine's destruction most of the task force assembled for the intercept returned to base, though a few ships (inc. the Cloverfield) remained on-station. We got word that a smuggler, Cardimilk_for_Kids was attempting to reach Manhattan [Note: Scan was taken after the ship departed Manhattan]. By the time I arrived, he was too close to the mooring point for a successful intercept and we chose to wait the ship out. Eventually, he couldn't help himself and departed Manhattan Spaceport, right into the arms of our force. Though Admiral Baker was occupied with the Kusari Gunboat George.Bailey [mentioned in Lt.Cmdr Polstari's report.], I was able to bring the ship down some 50km above Norfolk Shipyard. All Cardamine carried by the transport has since been vaporised. Adm. Baker aboard the Bunker.Hill took out Bailey's Gunboat in Manhattan Orbit shortly before Cardimilk bought it.
On return to Norfolk (and subsequent repair of scratched paintwork), Admiral Baker and I moved to the ****** jumpgate in Zone-21 to detain a Bounty Hunter vessel apparently pursuing a target in the area. Not a sign of the Hunter, but we did come across a transport exiting the jump gate [Callsign: BDD.Echo-9]. The Captain insisted that he had been forced to take the gate by Order agents, and that he had seen none of the alien presence in ******. While it'd normally seem a little far-fetched, the Order ship [Callsign: Order|-Shade.99] jumping out right behind him seemed to at least partly confirm it. While the Bunker.Hill escorted Echo-9 to Norfolk for database wipes, I moved in pursuit of the Order ship. Oddly, the thing didn't make any effort to return fire and broke contact by means of an internal jump hole. Shortly after, I shipped back out to Manhattan, where we had an altogether less subtle Order pilot [Callsign: Horus|Adam'Foshko] giving the usual spiel on Liberty.
I broke to engage the Order ship, and it was going just fine until he nailed my ammo store with a mini-razor just as my nuke went off in his face. Let's just say that I'm mighty glad those escape pods have radiation shields. That, and at least his Nephthys went up as well. No major injuries on this end, and I should be back on patrol just as soon as the techies can get my Liberator patched up. In the meantime, I'll log some more simulator hours.
