Sorry to report in so late, Admiral.
My report was delayed by a surprise I've still deemed to figure as pleasant or otherwise. Anyhow, the actual trip into Gallic borders was quiet, and gave me a good reminder of how beautiful the Tau systems were. I was lead in via a jump hole that was hidden with a minefield, but not before Fleur registered my ship with Council records.
The first system we entered was one called Languedoc, and its also where I learned Fleur's words held true. I was inspecting a battleship near a gate to a system called "Dauphine" I was only able to complete basic scans before a fighter undocked from the vessel.
The pilot didn't seem too intelligent though, figured I was a "Sirian" as they call us and came in shooting. I evaded before engaging gathering information on his vessel, which seems comparable to our Avenger in terms of armoring and maneuverability. I've also realized that their weapons are kinds I've never seen and found myself unable to identify many of them without more time to analyze them. The fight didn't last long after I decided I had what I wanted and decided to fire back.
After making it into Dauphine, I saw another battleship, but this one decided to make chase after us into a field. Again, I didn't have time to get a good scan, and what I did see I was unable to identify. Although, I did notice it was emitting some kind of anti-matter weapon that seemed comparable to one of our battleship mortars. I can't confirm that yet, as the beam struck two bombers, which is practically unheard of unless it had some kind of homing capabilities.
Eventually the battleship suffered heavy damage and made an exit to what I assume was the nearest shipyard, while I was lead to the Champagne system, which I believe is the headquarters of the Council. I've been sitting there for a bit, gathering bits and pieces of information when I can. I plan to head back to Liberty for a short duration if it can be worked out, to check on things back home.
Besides that, I have nothing further to report unless you have specific questions. I'll wait in Gallia for a little while to be sure you don't protest a quick return, or need anything vital reported.
