Subject: "Manhattan Hairball" Before and after
Today was an.. Interesting day. I knocked down a Behemoth operating under Cartel security, and.. Received reports of slavers in Manhattan orbit. I poked my nose in to find TWO slaving vessels peddling their goods. And who else did I find there? The LNS-Ingham, and Champion. Also present was a Xeno bomber, whom the Ingham seemed to be focusing ALL of his attention on, and another gunboat, the Miake.
Oddly, the Ingham did nothing about the Slavers, did not attempt to call in backup, or have them do anything about the flesh-peddlers. He just chased butterflies (In this case, a Xeno) while the Champion did his duty. I commend him for that. I picked up the signals of some NTF ships who came to manage the Slaver problem. While they might be radicals, they at least did something about the slavers. I returned to my patrol to later hear buzzing over the comms.
The LNS Milford and LNS Ingham were under attack in Manhattan orbit. In. Manhattan. Orbit. The fight stayed there. Until the Milford was critically damaged, and the Ingham was out of repair modules, when the Overlord had to un-moor and cover the Ingham long enough to escape to a repair yard.
The issue I raise here is that planet-side casualties ranked many dozens from the sheer amount of flak, debris, and stray munitions that not only impacted planet Manhattan, but also Newark station! The neglectful captains attempted to use the planet's orbital defenses to attack the aggressors. Which didn't work. Instead, there's dead people and a huge frakking bill.
I suggest that, in the future, major battles be pulled away from the planet. And people peddling lives be dealt with. Giovanni, I suggest you start telling the whole truth, not sugar-coating the story.
Norris out.
Addition to frequency: Something new has popped up on the CrimeNet reporting channel. Apparently, the Ingham gave away over 110 Rheinland Military pilots in return for some more repair modules so he could continue to fight in Manhattan orbit. He made the deal with.. A Rheinlander. Instead of blasting the Kraut, he gave it back valuable prisoners which could have been used for interrogation and ransom. Not to mention, the Kraut apparently got his hands on not one, not two, but THREE scans of our capital vessels! He got extensive scans of our Dreadnoughts, Carriers, and Battlecruisers. Link to report. This is utterly despicable.
