Subject: Treason in our ranks.
It started as a routine patrol. On the Lane to Texas, I spotted a Hellfire Gunboat below my position. I quickly jumped out of the lane, and approached it, maintaining a distance of 9K. It was near the recorded Inter-system jumphole, and I quickly called for backup. The Champion responded. He hauled his shiny new Cruiser down to the jumphole and pursued it through, with the LNS-Armstrong in escort. I followed the rear.
What I found on the other side was a sizeable Rogue fleet, several dozen fighters and in total, three gunboats attacked our location. Most interestingly, "Tim the Enchanter", A Liberty Rogue Roc. The LNS vessels did not engage the Rogue. Tim began firing on me as I quickly eliminated the Rogue patrols and garrison. I fired back, and when I did, both ships began screaming at me to disengage. Startled, I did. Tim did not. I re-engaged in defense, when the Champion began yelling at us both to stop shooting. Oddly enough, Tim did.
I was barraged by idiotic chatter from the Armstrong, claiming I was under their control, they were my superiors, blah blah blah.. I quickly reminded them of the place of the Secondary Fleet, and ordered them back to the other side of the jumphole. Not without a parting gift to Tim, of course. I jumped through to find the Champion, the Armstrong, and soon after, the Rogue, Tim, who immediately began to fire on my craft again. I returned fire. This time, I did not heed the Champion's and Armstrong's ridiculous orders to disengage. When my missile alarm went off the first time, I paid it no mind. The second, I got worried, as it was not the quick-fire of Cruise Disruptors. Then I saw the trails. The Armstrong had fired THREE. Count, THREE Gunboat missiles at me as I engaged the Rogue. This was no targeting error. The Armstrong intended to kill me.
I disengaged and informed the capital ship pair of my displeasure and impending report. I relocated to the security of the Missouri, where the Armstrong, Champion... And Tim, followed me. The pair ALLOWED the Rogue to approach our base. I flew out to intercept the Rogue and promptly destroyed him. Oddly, I had the quick-hit fire of Cruise Disruptors on me, but not from Tim, no, he was busy running away, at the urging of the Champion. No, the Disruptors came from the Armstrong.
The Armstrong was disrupting me, and the Champion yelling at the Rogue to run. This behavior stunned me. I still destroyed the Rogue vessel, though. I headed back to the Missouri. There, I interrogated the Champion and Armstrong. At one point, the Armstrong fled the interrogation, and the Champion engaged his cloaking device after around ten minutes. The Champion's excuse is essentially, the following:
"I enforce peace by any means necessary" And he does this by stopping law enforcement from doing their job. I will enclose nearly two dozen guncam shots of the encounter.
This behavior shocked me- I have only had good encounters with the Champion. He never struck me as one who would accost an agent doing his duty. The Armstrong I never had such resignations- typical Secondary Fleet Gunboat captain. The Champion deserved it's new title of Cruiser. But after this, I highly recommend stripping both of them of their command until a full-scale investigation can be done to determine their involvement with the Liberty Rogues. When it comes to national security, I do not want the Rogues to get access to anything.
