On my patrol today I received a distress call from a civilian inside the Pennsylvania System, apparently two unknown vessels had been positioned in between trade-lanes, halting passing ships and interrogated them. This did not seem like the typical behavior of a pirate so I decided to call in several extra pilots to start searching for these two trouble-makers.
After much searching was done, we finally spotted the two suspected pilots making their way towards the California jumphole in attempt to escape from our hands. A pilot who was stationed on the other side of the system confirmed that the vessels were of Rheinland origin, gunboat-classes to be more specific. Unfortunately he did not manage to intercept them in time and so we lost track of them shortly thereafter. Disappointed by the results we received a second chance to make up for our past failures.
This time they tried to break through our blockade that had been set-up between California and Pennsylvania gate-way. At first they seemed to succeed in this task but on the other side of the system we caught up with them and were forced to engage in combat due to the fact that they opened fire the minute we reached close to their proximity.
I would also like to state that the mercenary named Evelyn Foster was a vital component in this chase, and without her assistance I'm certain of that one of the two gunboats would have manage to escape during engagement.
[color=#3366FF]We still do not know why or how they had managed to enter so deep inside Liberty territory, the information we had received was minimal at best. For now, all incoming threats from Rheinland have been neutralized, we can only assume more attempts will be made.
