Subject: Mission training
My day began in Texas system with hopes of signing up for missions at the Job Board at Battleship Mississippi. I stared at the long list of kindegarten variety jobs being farmed out to those qualified. Finally, I thought, something more my speed. I was just about to accept a Level 2 mission (Yes, I was feeling daring that day), when I noticed on my scanners a ship in system named Maverick.Ryker. Well, the coward alarms in my head were blaring RED ALERT at the thought of encountering this individual, so I bailed out of the battleship with due haste and proceeded to Ontario system on the advice of a good friend.
Sweating out the trip, I finally made my way to Battleship Ottawa with no hostile encounters. Surely, I could find some light work that didn't require too much battle prowess. Unfortunately, all the Level 1 missions seemed to be taken. Swallowing my cowardice, I picked the easiest mission I could find and started my path toward manhood. Believe it or not, I was successful. Not only that, I began to take on more and more challenging missions. I even took, believe it or not, a level 10 mission. *Gasp* And yes, I nailed it.
Thinking myself invincible, I happened to chance upon a strange ship named HH|Haze. It didn't react like any of the ships I had encountered in my missions. The words I heard from that ship over my comm system were chilling to the bone. He said, "Jadin Larsen, your life is now forfeit."
My feelings of invincibility abandoned me immediately, leaving behind about 30 different shades of yellow. A cruise missille yanked me out of cruise and gunfire immediately evaporated my shields. I'm certain that only dogs could have heard the screams that came from my mouth. I tried to engage cruise engines, but to no avail. The villain wanted me dead. Terrified, I ducked and dodged as gunfire laced all about me leaving me only my hull for protection.
After what seemed like hours, I finally caught sight of Battleship Ottawa off in the distance. The sight of that imposing ship filled me with hope as I came within it's firing range. I thought that maybe HH|Haze would abandon me with Big Brother standing by. No such luck. He continued after me with nothing less than blind determination to end my life. I requested docking procedures while HH|Haze continued firing. This was going to be close.
After an eternity, I finally was allowed access to dock, and at the same time I discovered that Battleship Ottawa had scored a hit upon my foe. His ship was destoyed. YES!!! I did it. I came off victorious. Well, sort of. Ok...not really. But I'm alive....
Anyways, that's my report. My manliness may not be intact, but at least my ship still is.
