Matt smirks as he opens his laptop, he opens a bottle of beer and grins as he drinks it.
Sirs,
A pleasent patrol this evening. Started off with a Rogue fighter with some Outcast weaponry taking some pot shots at passing traders. I had literally just launched from the Missouri when I was confronted with him. LN-McQueen was already engaging the fighter, so I rendered assistance and blew it sky high. Some Hell-Puppies decided that they wanted to launch a tirade of abuse against Liberty. Of course, I retorted that their baseless accusations of corruption and withholding imformation from the public were completeltly without grounds. While I was busy laughing at their feeble excuses for being failed Navy officers, a trader was screaming for help near West Point. Setting off with Recruit Mark Dering, we engaged the pirates taking on the Ageria transports. The first kill was relatively straightforward. It seemed Smeagle was flying too straight and a quick MR and burst of my Hammers later - He dropped. The HF who were insulting us arrived on the scene and engaged the remaining pirates to which I called off our attack. No use overpowering the pirates when HF are around to get themselves blownup. I set a course to assist an LPI officer in Texas.
We were greated by three pirates. All of the freelancer sort. One Roc and two Sabres. The LPI officer was no longer on the scene at this point, however there was a secondary fleet bomber in attendance. They seemed to be arguing over who should pay who. I even had 1m credits transferred to me as some sort of bribe. These shall be forwarded to the Armoury. I do not take bribes and this immediately set about the next course of fighting. The Roc was targetted, however we lost our secondary fleet bomber. Fighting 4v2, Mark Dering showed immense courage and survivability after becoming the target. The LPI officer returned to the scene followed by Ensign Jack Turner and engaged the Roc bomber. I landed several MR hits to its hull, but annoyingly the targetting computer did not read my last hit as a kill shot. Instead favouring that the Roc was killed by something hostile. In a heavy Bretonian accent. Aye! ME! *coughs*. No matter, we engaged the other two sabres. One was downed after a sustained burst of my hammer fire, the other ran off after Mark ran out of CDs.
All in all, another fine evening's shift work. Moderate damage was taken to Mark's fighter, all other Primary officers survived. Our only loss was the secondary fleet pilot who is now recouperating on Houston.
Excellent work people.
