The LSC is outgunned by pretty much every single existing cruiser, there's little we can do about that. However the rapid refiring variant does end up doing more damage overall than the single 'oomph' of its current existing cousin. And I wouldn't say the current FWG is hard to aim, so much as the projectile is so miniscule that it chances grazing other capitals.
You make good points though, even if I personally feel the lower cost, more refire would counter dodging.
Hm. A second version of the forward gun... hadn't thought of that. A streamer version and a massive pulse version. It's a thought, but I'd like to hear what the balance guys think of it.
But your issue with the projectile is bogus - any non-guided weapon has a projectile size of one pixel. The VFX might make it appear larger, but in terms of having to hit something, every gun-type projectile is the same size, from the tiniest Starbeam to the most massive Heavy Mortar.

I know, I'm aware of that. However pinpointing where it is on the FWG is still a bit difficult for me. I've spent many hours in an LSC and I can't seem to get it perfect. But that's just a minor personal issue. (I think I'm just bad at aiming.)
