I know there has been alot of controversy over which Version of disco people like or liked best. So which one do you like(d)? 4.85, 4.86 or 4.87 or older than those?

Why even make such poll? You think suddenly we will become 4.85 or 4.86 ?

I'll always hold .84 close to my heart, relatively speaking, because that's when in depth Roleplaying was still an extremely popular and prevalent thing around here, and it was possible to find -easily-, without having to pre-plan an encounter, but that's not what this thread is about I guess, so I'll say this:

.87 appears to be a significant improvement over .85 and .86 in terms of functional changes and updates to the story and such. (I like .87 far better than .85 and .86, mainly because of the ID changes that have occurred, like allowing the Pilgrim to be used by Freelancer ID's again, which allowed me the ability to play one of my favorite characters the way she was meant to be played, once again.)

With game implementations aside, I enjoyed the atmosphere of 84 the most. It was perhaps because it was when I actually started playing every day.

The whole situation seemed a bit more relaxed and the whole community was more or less there to have fun, instead of trying to prove just how much of ''pure rp'' they were doing on the server and how much lesser anyone else was.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

Did you hear me saying I wanted that? This is an opinion poll. Not a petition

Basically this. Omicron Alpha was amazing back then.

But the gameplay was... meh. Vanilla ships exploded if you poked them with a Moonstalker, NPCs had entirely too much armor, and empty placeholder systems were all over the place.

In gameplay terms, 87's the best yet. It has good RP potential too, the only thing holding it back is the lack of people.

Implementation-wise, I'm torn between .87 and .85-before-the-bomber-guns-update. Story-wise, .87 is rad, but .85 basically had such a dynamic atmosphere (mostly because of .84, but I was a bit of a lolwut back then) that we'd be hard-pressed to outdo it in my eyes.

Retired, permanently.

4.85 was the golden age.
.84 was weird, but had awesome stuff such as the Charon and Viper. (Q_Q I will miss you)

.84, not because of the mod itself, but because of the people around back then.

If we disregard this then its definitely .87
