My apologies for contacting you again so soon. It is not my intention to flood your inbox, I promise.
I had a rather odd incident on patrol with Daniel not long ago. Oubli's scanners pinged a bird in Leed's orbit and we were the closest ships available. The contact turned out to one of ours, a Royal Police Cruiser, reporting as Vatan.
Daniel and I dragged the ship away from a Libertonian Assault Carrier that was out for its blood - the Captain was evidently out of touch with reality, babbling some nonsense about us being complicit. I'm afraid I tuned him out after the missiles started flying. Daniel set himself to holding the Carrier in place while I lead Vatan to the safety of the ice fields in Edinburgh. The same place I-
[She suppressed a shiver.]
The same place I encountered the Marduk. Nothing unusual so much as stirred this time though, beyond Vatan. Daniel joined us once he'd shaken the warship. Vatan's Capitaine identified himself as Directeur Lucas Gerald, of the Royal Police. He remembered you, and seemed a touch impressed with your new posting.
I know it is not my place, but the Directeur's speech was... Strange. He stalled in places where I would have expected fluidity, misused words occasionally. I may have misheard and, indeed, Daniel thinks I did, but I am certain I heard him refer to the repair of his ship as healing. Perhaps it is simply a product of the length of his mission.
Regardless, he requested I pass a message on to you, and you only, which I have attached below.
Code:
RPC-Vatan: "Relay to the Grand Marechal that we are ready for an operation change."
RPC-Vatan: "Our mission was... failed. It never reached a point of existance."
GRN|Camille.Gabriel.: Of course. That won't be a problem.
RPC-Vatan: "And tell him we wish to re-enter the war. Gallia needs us."
RPC-Vatan: "Do not speak to command."
RPC-Vatan: "Speak only to him."
RPC-Vatan: "If needed, use my name. It should be enough for him to listen."
Ansel appears on screen, his face contemplative and his hands folded behind his back.
I'm already aware that the Vatan wishes to talk to me, but your diligence in the matter is appreciated. The Vatan and it's crew are unusual characters, and months of covert operations with no contact from the outside world can work a number on a man's sanity. That being said, We'll have to find out if the ship is still fit for duty.
