Through my own experiences and stories I've had with others, How people go about engaging players, claiming bounties, enforcing laws, pirating, There's a lot of speculation what is considered reportable and not reportable. What a player can/can not do after death. What a pirate is allowed to do after pirating a player. All of which I was hoping to answer in one thread that all of the community can accept and understand rather than the set base rules as is which have loopholes. Also hoping this thread can fill those loopholes and resolve the common questions most people ask or are confused on.

I like this but you're comments on piracy have flaws... I can most definitely shoot at you before issuing a demand, I just need to Role Play beforehand. I can shoot you after issuing a demand, maybe I want to keep your shields down for a quick SNAC in case backup arrives and you try something funny while saying you're going to pay...

To clarify one point yes pirates can re-pirate a trader that returns to the pirate. Foolish trader should not be foolish.

To clarify one point yes pirates can re-pirate a trader that returns to the pirate. Foolish trader should not be foolish.

Killing the shields is a from of engagement as said in rule 3.1. At that point the trader can defend himself if he chooses to. At most it ticks them off and think it's a rulebreak and overloading the reports for admins. If you're in a bomber, a transport shield isn't much protection really. I can see a warning shot being RP'd but not enough to kill shields. At that point the trader can choose to A) disregard it and pay you or B) start shooting.

Do you have forum refferences that says this is cool, acceptable, and not reportable? If so send them to me in a PM and I'll add it to clarification.

3.2 & 3.4 A player who was killed during a PvP fight in any form, (docking included except transports/freighters) must not enter the system where the fight took place or re-engage the attacker(s) for 2 hours from the time of their destruction, or until this/these ship(s) leave(s) the game


Now. Area of clarification: 1) Example: Bomber dies in Cortez. Can that bomber be in Magellan where he did NOT die, and if he can, Can his killers ask him to leave Magellan? Or should the rule be changed to "If you die, Log out and don't fly around for 2 hours"?

The Area of Clarification part, just to help explain that. If a bomber dies in Cortez, Moves to Magellan, and the fight he was in/players involved in the fight move to Magellan Shortly after (within the 2 hour time frame of death.) You're still dead. Being in a different system, or the fighting being over in a different doesn't mean you can go back and reengage.

I've run in to a lot of people who lack clarification on this rule. ( Not mentioning names) Such as a certain instance in Magellan, when a Gunboat had died, the fight ended up moving to Leeds, where the gunboat appeared and attacked again. That isn't okay. The gunboat is still dead.


It'd be a good idea to have a little more clarification on that specific section of the rule.
