On the surface this room was nothing special; metal floors, metal walls, one chair, a desk and a single door. Not even a window, which may offer some sort of indication as to the location of this cold room. Rather dull… on the surface.

Suddenly the lights shimmer slightly as they experience a sort of surge, a faint electrical hum can also now be heard. The single door slides open as a figure walks in and then slides shut just as fast. The room is suddenly completely illuminated as what seems like thousands of holoscreens light up, displaying a library of information. Information that contains some of the darkest secrets of Sirius – and beyond.

“Display Project Menace.”

The holoscreens rearranged themselves so that the requested file was the focus. The file was made up of a collection of headings relating to different aspects of Project Menace, one of which was Operation Objectives. The figure gestured towards the heading so that the current list would be displayed.

“Objective - 3 is now to receive priority status.”

The figure did a final gesture and all of the holoscreens shut down. As he left the room the humming slowly ceased and the room returned to its state of dullness… on the surface.

If you are reading this then congratulations, you have been selected to form part of Project Menace. Before any details are revealed it must be stressed that this project is classified under the highest levels of agency security.

Liberty is a democratic entity and while there is no debate that our system of governance is the most developed in human history, it is far from perfect. Before any act is carried out the planning process must be developed and approved by more people than is efficient and necessary. In our line of work, speed is of the utmost importance.

Furthermore, Liberty is a civilized state and as a result there are certain actions which the House cannot condone and/or be associated with. Unfortunately some of these actions would be hugely beneficial to the State both in terms of security and maintaining our dominance. This is where Project Menace comes into play.

Officially Project Menace is tasked with operations within the deep Omicrons. However in truth the project’s jurisdiction is anywhere Liberty may be at risk. Operatives that form part of Project Menace have the privilege of operating beyond normal agency restrictions, they are tasked with protecting Liberty and her interests, by any means necessary - including acts of inter-house terrorism.

Do not misread the intentions of this project and assume this gives you free rain to do as you please. While your tasks will be far from restricted, as an agent of the Liberty Security Force you still have certain operational obligations. With that being said do not forget that your primary duty as a member of Project Menace is to ensure the security and dominance of the Republic of Liberty.

No paper work, no trail. If evidence of misconduct arises the LSF will deny any involvement and classify you as a rogue agent, at least that will be the official story.

You will receive further instructions when the time is right. For now, all Project Menace operatives are ordered to outfit their vessels with Nomad weaponry.
