Seeing a niche in the market for a powerful yet affordable cruiser,_____ Corp started to develop one of their own. After months of argueing and construction, the first prototype was complete. Unfortunately the design had some major flaws. After several disasterous tests, the design was scrapped.
A major setback but the corporation were determined to exploit the ripe market and so turned to other ships for inspiration. Their search did not take long. The Liberty Cruiser is renowned for it's strength and agility, overal combining to make a very popular ship. Seeing a perfect template to base their cruiser on, the engineers got to work. This ship was the result.
OOC: For all of you with not so keen eyes, the ship is based on the hull of the Liberty Cruiser. This can be seen in the central part of the ship. I was thinking the ship could be a privately manufactured cruiser much like the Talarca but after some opinions, it could be a variation of the current Liberty Cruiser. Heavier and more powerful but yet less agile. Might be useful for the Liberty Police. Even the police in present times have access to powerful machinery. Still, it can be whatever you want it to be:rolleyes:
Thoughts?
Plenty more to come by the way..
i take it that it has no foreward gun, but more turrets instead ( like normal cruisers ) - the model itself looks good. - i see nothing to complain about. - it fits the liberty design ( a bit too blocky maybe, but fits in )
it looks modular , which underlines the "easy to maintain" and "afford" part. excellent model.
Ah I think I might change the title of the thread. Mean it more as a private corp manufacturing than a Navy ship really. Thanks for the thoughts though, do keep em coming!
EDIT: In terms of a forward gun Jinx, the section at the front that protrudes from the rest of the model is the gun though anything can be changed really. It probably looks modular because it is modular:PI can easily take away parts of it and change them around to suit whatever. Again, thanks for your thoughts, especially considering you're one of the foremost modellers here!
Eh, call me crazy, but this looks more like a tanker to me than it does a Cruiser. Not streamlined enough, and balancing the thing as a Cruiser would be a logistical nightmare.
