I and many others know that being a Nomad or Wild ingame is impossible,that you can
only be a Nomad or Wild if you join Keepers or Wilde.I am starting this discussion to see what people think about this idea.
You'd need stellar RP to get the admins to approve it. As far as the big blue men are concerned, the only legitimate rule is theirs, so unless you are planning to roleplay something other than Rheinlanders or out and out SK, you'd be without a legitimate "home".
I personally think that anyone should be able to get the Wilde or Nomad terrorist ID.
I think that a lot of RP potential is being squandered that otherwise could be. Afterall, who's to say that my Liberty Battleship wasn't taken over by Nomads during the war and now I'm back to wreck bloody havoc on the people.

That being said, the Keepers and Wilde aren't -that- hard to get into. Applications are reviewed and accepted all of the time. The Keepers especially are open to new members!
The Keepers and Das Wilde get to have the privilege of playing their roles so long as they keep it within the limits of good form. If we step out of line, we have that privilege taken away, that's one of the only reasons why we're allowed the freedom the ID allows.
Wild and Keeper ID are like Terrorist ID. You can and usually do kill everyone else you see, and to top it off you fly with the best hardware in the game.
And you're proposing letting everyone and their dog have open access to that. Right.
Say what..? You pretty much just stated how the system works now and said "what do people think about this idea".
Anyway, i think i know what you mean so i will respond to your "question"... I belive it to be good that you cannot be an indie nomad or wilde, cause that would result in some SERIOUS pvp whoring seeming how the nomad, and wilde, ID's are just like terrorist ID's. It is also nice to see that the keepers and wilde are careful in their selection of new members.
So to sum things up: Careful selection of your members = Good. Beeing unable to be a true indie wilde, or keeper = Good.

I'm making a point here, the accuracy is irrelevant. Nomad tech is not to be snuffed at, although there are several notable drawbacks that keep the balance. For instance, no missiles or debbies on the Nomad ships (Wild are not similarly restrained, but then again they don't fly the Nomad Fighter).

Anway, I totally agree with Dennis.
Thing is, Discovery has alot of new players coming in, especially people that don't speak English. And, they may have played Singleplayer and wanted to be a Nomad, and, if they had that chance here, without restraint, we would have tons of Nomad OORP PvP whores who want nothing but to stay silent and keep killing, and the staying silent part would fit with them, since they don't speak English.
