I noticed that there are none.

All freighters have an allignment it seems. No neutral civillian types.

EDIT:

To clearify, I mean ships that are the triangularly placed brown hull ships such as:

Starflier
Startracker
Starblazer
Hawk
Eagle
CTE-10000 Civilian Bomber
ect.

You notice they all have the same theme, that of a neutral ship that most corperations use for escorts, and Xenos use for ships.

There is no Neutral/Civillian craft of this type that fits the catagory of a freighter.

Well, if you mean players, everyone has to choose a faction ID when reaching level 30. I mean a trader, who`s level is below 30, should try to get another job...

I attempted to make one a while back.

It didn't work.

Arguably yes, in my eyes they are Civilian class. But getting it is a bother legally. I only seen it sold on that Hacker base in Magellan, name escapes me.

One of the lawful bases in Newcastle sells it too, I think South Shields Refinery.

With the exception of house-specific freighters/transports, I see them all as civilian. Even those, really, but my Hogosha will stop you much faster if you're in a Bretonian freighter or transport than any others.

Camara Heavy Freighter, Dromedary, and the Homeworld freighters are all unaligned and used by all sorts of folk. All of them are also rather good.

Remember, these ships are made for the big corporations that transport stuff. Most, if not all, started off in a single house and so use their transports (Or oddly enough, transports and trains).
Freighters are only really useful for short runs, which these corporations don't do.
