I'm curious, has there been any thought about making a line of freighters and transports for AP. They are ship builders, I guess it could be said that they specialize in combat ships and I here fortified outposts in the edge systems. Despite this specialization it would come to pass the need for AP to design their own custom ships in order to move their unique ship components.
My APM-Aries trader uses the Heavy Tanker, the transport I felt most suitable for moving the bulky components needed for AP's large scale operations. It would be great if they had their own series of single hull trade ships.
AP makes the piranha, barracuda, Sea Serpant, Manta etc...
The AP line is the symbolic ship of the BHG.
Freighters and Transports are non-combat I know but just thinking of a series to add on to an existing ship line.
I am happy with the Heavy Tanker though.
ah - those ... but since these ships are more or less exclusive BHG ships - i d rather see a shipbuilder to order materials from the existing providers - instead of flying with their characteristic designs.
what i can think of is a high security armoured transport - although the current armoured transport fulfils his role admirably, too. - some time ago we had an attempt to make a BHG based medium transport. - but the problem there is that the BHG is not a trading faction and IF there were traders flagged as BHG in BHG ships ( even if they were transports ) they d suffer the great disadvantage from their parent faction.
so, a trader in sigma-13 is being taxed - but if it was a BHG trader in a BHG transport with BHG ID - ( which would be in RP for that matter, i guess ) ... i daresay, some pirates would comfortably skip the taxing and go straight to the killing.
This is not so much a separate faction as an idea to have a bit of fun playing traders as a wing of the S/D. We built an AT and I'm working on another Prison Liner for RP events - prisoner transfers, etc. - which helps generate enough cash to keep the faction running without a cash injection from our "investors" but I wanted to expand RP and overcome the limitation on trade. So I came up with this. The S/D has a controlling interest in the company. It is effectively a trader faction that is closely affiliated to the BHG (hence the tag).
I also wanted to get some of the less used transport vessels in circulation, especially the chunkier models like the tanker and the mammoth. I don't imagine we can justify having a separate ship line. Only draws attention to it.

AP Manufacturing
AP Manufacturing is a diversified heavy industrial company specialising in shipbuilding, ship breaking, station construction, modular construction, civil and military engineering, renewables and project management, and is the exclusive supplier of vessels to the Bounty Hunters' Guild.
Corporate Fleet:
Nowhere is APM's unique corporate identity more apparent than in its transport fleet. The fleet is required to deal with a wide variety of commodities, ranging from bulky cargo such as capital ship hull components and space station modules to fragile optronics and optical chips. Moreover, company ships ply trade lanes through remote Border and Independent systems where the rule of law does not always apply. In addition, the company's connection to the Guild means that it is often obliged to operate in Houses throughout the galaxy, and this has resulted in a fleet comprised of corporate standards augmented by local models.
More distubringly, in recent times the company has attracted increasing attention from pirates who may have learned of the company's connection to the Guild. Former military specialists seconded to APM from the Guild developed reinforced hulls and advanced power arrays to provide additional protection for the company's dangerous and often lengthy trading missions.
Ships comprising the fleet (provisional):
Light - Armoured Transport; Heavy Lifter; Transport
Medium - EL-HiL51 "Mammoth" Liberty Transport (2 available) ; Large Transport
Heavy - 568-ARKG-B6 "Behemoth" Rheinland Heavy Transport (2 available); b-40-E "Percheron" Bretonia Transport (2 available); Train
Very Heavy - Large Train; Heavy Tanker; Advanced Train
Components, Identification and IFF Protocol
All vessels shall carry a BH tag. All vessels shall carry a Trader identification card.
All vessels may mount Bounty Hunter and Civilian Weapons
Suppliers, Cargo and Trade Routes:
The APM trade network is heavily concentrated in the southern half of Sirius, and APM ships rarely have any need to venture into Kusari space, perhaps a consequence of the company's close association with the Guild. Components and materials are sourced principally through trade agreements with Ageira, DSE, Daumann, BMM and the IMG, among others. The company's buying power is reflected in the discount it enjoys in the trade of commodties essential to ship construction. While many space station modules and reactor cores are assembled in the larger factories and shipyards of Rheinland and Liberty, the final assembly of Guild ships is carried out in locations as far apart as Newcastle and the Omegas.
One principal duty of APM is supplying Deshima Station with deuterium. The Guild's control of this station means that a tidy profit can be turned from sales of the product. More importantly, unscrupulous Kusari black market operators often make cutting-edge Kusari avionic material, such as optronics and chips, available to APM buyers at the station.
Planet Cambridge houses one of the company's main engine assembly plants. Here, control, monitoring, communication, navigation, weather, and anti-collision systems for Guild ships are also put through their final tests.
This is the list of commodtities and approved trade routes. All are lucrative, long and often dangerous.
