Je suis, monsieur Lapierre, I am asking permision to order a super transport class ship since we are having issues with the supplies.
Since the war has started we have seen a increasing request of minerals and we simply cannot scale. The increased demand meant hiring new employes, training them, paying insurences for them and giving them the tools needed for their work: a mining vessel.
But it is not easy to simply increase the number of people you have since you have to manage the increased number of food rations you have to provision, the bed numbers, ships and other such things and we simply cannot suffice.
Now we have many transport ships that are constantly bringing us the things we need to keep our employees happy and healthy so the number of ships with which we can ship the minerals we extract is constantly going down.
Under these conditions, we are asking permision to build a super transport ship with which we shall be able to ship a larger quantity of minerals from our storage depots in Tau 23 and Picardy to our rafineries were we shall obtain the precious metals needed by our heavy tried industry.
your request has been rapildly passed around and ended up here. A sure sign that somebody does not wish to deal with it, probably because it has no clear departmental alignment and Ministries are a bit silo minded.
As this is a transport ship then Gallia would encourage as efficient an operation as possibly so if plans exist all you need to do is commission the building. As you are a Gallic Organisation and ths is not a capital class vessel your request falls within general commercial guidelines and thus does not need any special authorisation

I know that what we are requesting is a trading ship and the goverment shoudn`t event be bothered with such a request, but the ship we are interested in building will consume tons of minerals.
Imagine that if for a Vache there are needed 250 tons of hull segments, for a Pachyderme around 385 tons of hull segments, for this super transport we might need 2-3 times the amount of hull segments needed for a Pachyderme.
Since the war is consuming large quantities of our hull segments and task force, I find it better to ask for a ok before starting planning such a ship, making models of it and then building such a ship.
Planning such a ship will require a certain amount of planning, testing from the Kingdom arhitects and then it will be the number of builders needed to construct this... gigantic monster.
Bonjour Monsiur Lapierre,
that makes sense, if only all businesses showed such foresight.
Although you are correct about the high demand both our miners and logistics companies EFL and IDF, together with newly opened avenues to Kusari and Rheinland are managing to meet current needs.
Without food and other supplies however it does not matter how many ships are sitting there. We need to supply the populance with their essentials as well. If they become disenfranchised then it is a downward spiral.
If you can obtain the materials then by all means construct this vessel. We are of course presuming that the cost:benefit is there, it may take 3 times the materials to build tham a Pachyderme but we presume it carries a lot more than three times the payload?

Indeed you are right, there will be a huge benefit if the arhitects will be able to build the ship I have in mind.
I am not a ship designer so I can`t calculate exactly the amount of materials needed but I am estimating that for a triple number of hull segmens needed for a Pachyderme we would be able to haul around 5 times its capacity meaning that we could get a bigger number of comodities that are being delivered with a smaller cost of producing such a ship and the best part of all is that it would be piloted by a single captain and not by 5 as we would have in the classic situation.
Please do not make plans related to the numbers I am giving out now, I have to consult with the arhitects and build smaller scale ships to test the design out.
I shall inform you when our test are completed what we managed to achieve.
The designers have done a great job producing a ship that only costs double as the Pachyderme to produce, but it is able to carry 8 its load, a performance that should be noted down in the records book.
The tests have went well so we have constructed the ship, but until we shall be able to send it in the production enviroment we still need to test it, but due to the pressing times, we shall test it by making a route that our employees have to do.
We will come back with more reports regarding the ship status and how it could be improved in the future. Meanwhile, I am attaching the ship schematics...
We have completed our tests for the ship and we have also completed our extra storage depots. So far the ship is exactly what we expected to be but the engines are a bit slower than we anticipated.
It is good for hauling large quantities of materials from point A to point B but due to its size it is unable to easily use the tradelanes or the jump gates, also the manevrability in rocky places is a bit tricky for even the most experienced captains.
The advantage of this kind of transporter really shows up if you want to transport a high quantity of materials from point A to point B when there are no trade lanes available over a long distance where other ships would not resist without refuelling or reprovisioning with oxygen, water, and food units.
For the Service this ship is a great deal. For example we have transported a very large quantity of hull segments for our storage depots in a very short period of time, BUT for other companies such IDF or EFL which operate in spaces where trade lanes exist, such a ship makes no sense due to its poor manevrability it will not be able to turn when necesary thus imagine the traffic jam that will be cause by such a gigantic ship.
we are gladdened by the news that your ship is all you hope it to be.
Your point regarding traffic jams is also something we would wish to avoid and makes perfect sense. It may also be true however IDF have a history of supplying the front line, and although this would make a prime target the cost effectiveness and the ability to supply the front with larger amounts in one go may be of interest.
However, as neither company has approached us this speculation is a moot point and is a hudle to be crossed if and when.
