For hundreds of years, Corsairs have honored the legend of the few great individuals who sacrifised themselves
for the good of the nation as a whole. Although many young and older Corsairs believe this to be nothing more but
mere legends left over from the time of great suffering of the Corsair people, there have been strange things
recorded on Crete. Many people have, throughout history simply disappeared from the streets of Crete, never to be heard of again.
Planet Crete is a violent place to live in, and the Corsair way of life is one of constant danger and strugle, so
these cases never caught much attention. However, beneath the surface of the planet, shrouded by a veil of mistery a cult had been thriving
for centuries. It was made up of people who believe the tails of old to be true, and that they must honor the fallen ones
by making sure the enemies of Corsairs feel the sacrifice they had to give for their people. They in short are The Cannibals, or Los Canibales.

Alienated even from their own people, they are a brotherhood of individuals who's way of life is frowned upon by all others. They consume human flesh,
firmly believing it to be the old, true way of the Corsairs, and that it gives them power like no other human can ever get.


Before the times when space flight was open to all Corsairs, the Cannibals preyed on their own people, snatching them up when nobody was around
and draging them to their hidden temple.

Membership was often kept in high secrecy, and nobody could ever be sure if the man next to him was a Cannibal or not.

It was like that until one high ranking member of the cult betrayed his brothers, and made their names public. A crusade was called upon them
by leaders of the Corsair nation and the cult was virtually destroyed.

Centuries passed, and the Cannibals were pushed out into the distant memory of the Corsair history, often mixing facts with myth.
But the cult was never really destroyed. Few individuals were able to survive, going into seclusion even more, and passing their legacy on the future
generations.

Today the Cannibals have risen again, stronger than ever, praying upon unsuspecting ships passing through or close to the Corsair space, capturing their crews,
performing cruel rituals and consuming their victims.

The Corsairs have a contempt for the other houses, and a disregard for foreign lives. As such, they have no inhibitions about killing Bretonian or Rheinland traders in cold blood if it means they will acquire wealth or cargo.

Sounds like savages to me.
