It has been a while since I've hosted something like this. Keep that in mind, please. If in doubt, ask questions.
This is a rough writeup of the event and its goals. You will find answers to the most commonly asked questions and concerns at the very bottom of this post.
SPAZZY'S 30 DAY RP CHALLENGE
INTRODUCTION
The idea about the 30 Day Challenge popped up around two years ago. Sadly, back then I did not have the time, drive or the means to execute this sort of event. Now that the month promises to be a bit less stressful, I have finally nailed down the all around basics for this sort of event.
Due to the nature of this event, I cannot promise any sort of ''reward'' for the contestants. The community will be the judge and a kudos will be probably the only sort of payment you will receive. If by any chance an admin is reading this, it would be nice if the team could provide some ingame goodies to those, who have taken their time to contribute to the ingame roleplay of the server.
The challenge itself includes using Closed Economy characters and a Hard Mode of your own choosing. If any of those two gameplay styles do not fit your interests, you might want to skip this event altogether.
CHALLENGE GOALS
These are rather straight-forward.
*The end goal for the 30 Day Challenge is to create as much roleplay influence ingame you possibly can on a bran new closed-economy hardcore-mode character.
What this means is up to you to interpret. Just how much of influence can you manage to inflict on the current ingame happenings with a random character. How would you rate the influence of your character?
In the end, you must use this character to get as many ingame interactions as possible. How, is up to you. How will your character become well-known over the period of 30 days?
*Additional goals are to flood the server with higher quality roleplay, especially centered around low-ranked ships.
*Spread the popularity of closed-economy characters and hard-mode.
*Provide players with basis for future SRP requests, if their character ends up something they want to continue after the event is over.
*Just something to keep you busy for a month. Hue.
RULES
*Event rules
-All participants need to create a brand new character for this event.
-These characters need to remain anonymous and their names should not be posted on the forum by their owners.
-Participants are encouraged to use additional tools, such as the Random RP Character Generator to promote variety and additional challenge.
-Participants must use only ONE ingame character. Any progression and ship changes are done via one character ingame. You may not create other ingame characters for different ships belonging to your RP character. (To be discussed)
-Participants need to understand that the goal of this challenge is to bring more roleplay to the in-game enviroment. Forum based roleplay such as transmissions to factions, groups and buying used ships/gear is allowed, but participants are discouraged from posting their progress in the Stories section in order to maintain in-game anonymity.
*Closed Economy Character rules
-The participants need to create a dedicated character for this challenge. Changing the name of the character is also forbidden throughout the challenge.
-The participants are to use only the one ingame character they have created. Making other ingame characters to represent backup ships is not allowed.
-No bank transfers via the commands or third party players are allowed.*
-Upon ship loss, players retain their free money. (See hard-mode rules for alternative)
*Hard-mode rules
-Player can chose the level of hard mode to fit their gaming preference.
-The player must show self-discipline and uphold their own set of limitations. Changing your hard-mode level depending on the ingame moments is not allowed.
-Hard Mode level 1: Upon ship death, the player needs to pay 50% of their equipment for repairs. They can keep the ship. They can send the lost money to their bank or the Angels.
-Hard Mode level 2: Upon ship death, the player sends all free money to their bank and deleted their character, equipment and all without refund. After that, they must use a /restart command on a new character with the same name, using the restart template which is closest to that of their character's roleplay, then draw the exact same money they sent away.
-Hard Mode level 3: Upon ship loss, the character dies and the challenge is ended. The participant can create a new, different character and start from the beginning, if they wish.
*Additional Rules
-Staging ingame roleplay is discouraged, but cannot be restricted. The community will be the judge whether or not it makes your RP less interesting or not.
-Joining factions is also discouraged, for the same reasons.
-The participants have all rights to end their roleplay before the end of the 30 day period, but they should post their progress with everyone else.
-The description of your progress should be posted in the specified thread on the specified date, including as many descriptions, videos, screenshots and links to forum mentionings of your character.
-The judge will be the community. Simple as that.
The description is not finished. Suggestions and feedback is welcome and encouraged.
Depending on the feedback and suggestions, the description, rules and goals might change. Add your own.
THE EVENT STARTS AT 2014.03.03 and ends at 2014.04.02
The thread for your summary will be posted around 15th of March.

This is more or less about skypefriends using oorp ties to stage RP situations. The reason this cannot and should not be restricted is that, staged or not, it still is an RP interaction on the server and thus a positive impact. However these sort of staged encounters also can be seen as less interesting or less ''worthy'' than spontaneous encounters.

Sort of yes and sort of no. The recent video was about the concept behind it and I will probably redo it properly, since it was plagued with a shaity audio.
