Lately, while being basically the only cap user in my faction, I found it being a carrier a very interesting thing. Though with our current state, two docking modules can help with quick changing only to a single player. Perhaps two, if they will be loging their previous ships in space, or reach the closest station, though, it takes a while in general.
So I thought about solutions. First, very simple. Make more of them, while lowering cargo usage. For example, make them twise more on each ship that uses them, while their cargo use will be twise lowered.
Second solution... I am not sure how much is it possible, so I wonder what developers might say to that. Perhaps this information is old, but as far as I know, /jettisonship command makes the jettisoned vessel appear 100k below the system's center. Somehow I doubt that this is just random. My thought is basically just a theory. I wonder if it is possible to track the location of the ship that uses this command, then put that into coordinates where the ship on which this command was used... with a slight changes. That much would allow one docking module to be occupied by a player during the fight. For example... You don't need to fly to another base to dock there, and switch on the ship that is docked on the carrier. You can just fly to the carrier, which will jettison already docked vessel (which won't be seen straight as it's offline yet) and allow docking for the one that came.
So what do you think? If you may have more opinions, feel free to share. Those who don't like capital ships in general, please, don't even post here.
P.S.: Sorry if I am putting my thoughts too hard... kind of happens, if you are curious, ask, I will try to explain. Also sorry for my grammar.
