Okay, so I just reinstalled Freelancer on a new hard drive, so I'm feeling a bit noobish. Here's my problem:
I run Freelancer.
It goes through the intro movies.
It goes to the splashscreen (the one that it shows while it loads the main menu).
It goes to a purplish-black screen for about a second, then Freelancer crashes to desktop.
Help?

Argh, now FLMM is throwing a hissy fit because it can't find directories/files that obviously aren't where FLMM wants them to be!

Error: FLMM has determined that 'Discovery Mod v4.84' won't properly activate.
Error: file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\data\universe\systems\intro\intro.ini' doesn't exist

you lose?

seriously...that's weird... download updates for your video card and if that doesn't work do a clean re-install.

have you activated the mod yet?

No, it won't let me because it can't find those directories/files:(
I tried activating other mods too (the ones preloaded with FLMM) so either my FLMM installation is messed up or my my whole Freelacer installation is messed up.

Edit: Reinstalled FLMM. Other mods now work, about to try Disco.

Edit 2: "Activation of 'Discovery Mod v4.84' successful." Woo!
Gonna try FL now.

Edit 3: FL Boots now, gonna try to load the server.

Open FLMM, go to Options -> "Choose different Freelancer directory"
and select your install directory, then FLMM should be able to activate mods.
