New Base Rule suggestion.

While we have the new rules for POBs (which generally are good), in which states:

Rules regarding Player Owned Bases:

• Core One
  - Players are not required to role play prior to building a Core 1 base
  - Players are not required to role play prior to destroying a Core 1 base
  - Name, location and IFF of bases are permanent

Discussion: This will allow players to have their toy without being forced to have a forum account. Also, choices made regarding the base become permanent, name, location and affiliation specifically. If players/factions wish to keep their Core 1 bases intact, they will be forced to either hide them in remote locations or make deals with other players to stock, and or, defend their base. Role play may not be an actual rule requirement for building them, but players may find it necessary to RP with others in order to keep them from being destroyed. The community, by it's nature, will destroy any POB's that are foolishly placed. This strategy becomes even more effective once the POB's have been nerfed.

i believe there is unfortunately a loophole regarding this especially when it involves certain factions and locations where destruction of lolbases proves impractical at best, and nigh impossible at worst.

What i would ask the admins to consider is a singular extra rule for bases:

Bases built within 15k of a JH/JG may not have any weapons platforms.

the premise behind this is simple:
no more JH or JG camping bases which could be used for purposes such as: "lulz, troll or general stupidity".

Make it so that base builders have to make a choice:
either build near a JH/JG and have no weapons platforms
or
Have weapons platforms, but build at least 15k away from a JG/JH.

I believe this would not be detrimental to POB owners or the server, and falls in line with the sentiment garrett expressed above.

Also, i think that should this be made into a rule, it b e applied retroactively to all existing bases as well. for bases that would violate it, perhaps offer a free move to the minimum required distance? (to keep it fair)

What about bases that are in 10-15k of JG/JH, has weapon platfoms, but it is justified inRP? And only those players complain about it who should not use that specific JH/JG at all.

15k is too far to require no defense platforms.

Even 5k-7k range is safe from platforms.

I don't think such rule is needed, shield nerf and SRP-like base upgrade system should prevent malicious abuse.

Well, The core I is the only level which can be built at OORP platforms. And I suppose Core I don't have much weapon platform options. Do they ?? and if they do, then without shield, its just walk-in-park for Battleships to destroy it.

To increase Core, they will eventually need to RP and justify as to why the base is built at that position. Don't they ?

Also some jump blocking bases are good.
