Yes, they did make an animated Battletech cartoon....but it wasn't THAT well done. Most if it was just trying to show off some base-level CGI.

Titanfall seems Battletech inspired...and seems the kind of game they would make set in the Battletech universe.

Well, I was watching G00 and noticed those older style mechs and I was like.....wait, those seem oddly familiar.
Too bad that in the end they all went Code Geass style and replaced it with something a bit more...eh....marketable.

Starting out with "realistic" mechs and moving towards the more fantastical is pretty standard for Gundam. It takes much longer with the original series (UC) though. A good, but short, series set in the UC universe is The 8th MS team.
