ok let me get this straight: i went to england to a game store that sold Freelancer, but instead of free in front of lancer, i see star. but this is however some sort of totally different game?

Starlancer was the first game, Freelancer is the "sequel" - it takes place after the events of starlancer, they're both the same series but two different games.
