Hi
machine is struggling with some of the graphic effects, is it possible to swap the folder with 3.85 folder or would that be considered a cheat?

As long as it's just cosmetics (effects, textures, models) it may or may not trigger the autoban.
Try it with an empty account. I did before and it always worked.
