^- Topic.

In particular, I'm wondering if we can change Planet Atka in the Hudson system to a partially (low-pop) habited world. Right now the infocard says:

The frozen planet of Atka was once targeted to be terraformed by the Liberty government in an attempt to relocate manufacturing and economic undesirables to the Independent Worlds. That plan is currently on hold until the system can be made more secure for commerce.

Now, tensions are rising between liberty and rheinland as everyone (or almost everyone) knows. Liberty might not be willing to risk terraforming and habitation of a planet while pirates run amok in the system, but how would rheinland handle it?

Preferrably i'd like to see the "station" on the ground the same one used on california minor - just a small station set on the ground as a nuetral base, maybe ALG aligned (ALG could use some more attention I think) - NPC's on the surface could include robots for the cargo/equipment/ship dealers, and a mix of ALG, Daumann, and Rheinland Military personnel inside the bar.

We could add a new rheinland battleship to the planet's orbit to keep local xenos, unioners, and rogues away as well.

ALL planets can become dockable.

Atka, could use California Minor (for the base background, shape, etc) or Toledo

If you're going to terraform the planet, put a small Planetform base on the surface, and perhaps have a Lib Dread outside the planet...it is a LIBERTY plan after all.

Yes, I know Liberty has a lot of stuff, but they'd be better off than Rheinland after all the Sirius history anyway, so they'd have more the resources to put a BS in orbit I'd say.

Either that, or a small Planetform Depot in orbit surrounded by Weapon Platforms from either Planetform, Lib Navy, or a combination.

If it does get habitable, it CANNOT have a powertrade run like one of the old ones. (Planet sold something, I think it was HFuel that the BS bought for nearly four times to sell)

The infocard specifically says that liberty isnt willing to risk it, and planetform probably wont either due to attacks by xenos from their nearby base.

It doesnt need to be terraformed, nothing in the infocard says the atmosphere isnt breathable - it's probably just cold as all hell, so some kind of station could be built as a small outpost there.

Yes, liberty does have too much stuff =P Besides, with all the uprising in the texas system I doubt they'd be able to get enough ships through to establish a base in the independent worlds, while rheinland is right next door and xenos arent a threat to the RM's ships.

Didnt ask for any powertrading, just trying to expand on things since we're throwing SP out the window in the next mod version. We have events going on here that would naturally lead to change in control over various systems - like the upcoming war between rheinland and liberty, and the current war between bretonia and kusari.

How about completing the tradelanes in Tau 31 and 23, many years have already passed since their construction began. Also, there are tradelanes in Hokkaido that need to be completed and the Chogoku gate, which is currently not functional.

There are probably more constructions to be finished and more planets terraformed, it would be cool to have them in the next version. :)

I agree the tradelanes should be finished, its been 16 years!

Although with the war there i think its an unsafe place to be building lanes?

Maybe the chug gate was finished but its been made inoperable by the BD/GC so they gave up?

But yes, many lanes and gates have been in the process of being built for 16 years, makes sense if eventually they're finished.

Okay, first, not all planets can be made dock-able in a Role Play sense (e.g. gas giants, volcanic planets, etc.).

Second, while I agree that any unfinished trade lanes should definitely be finished, the Chugoku gate construction site should never be finished. Why? Because Chugoku is a Blood Dragon system, and constant attacks from the Blood Dragons would make the Jump Gate become damaged, making completion impossible.

Actually someone here a while back had an interesting idea on the chugoku gate - that kishiro/samura were helping with the construction (since ageira does all lane/gate construction), just so they could learn how to build gates on their own, so that ageira would no longer have a monopoly on gate construction in sirius.

There is something planned for Atka. Don't worry about it.
