What is this?
Basicly, gives the played the ability to protect a char using a password. Once a char is password protected, it cannot be renamed or moved between accounts, for example. The char can still be used to do everything else like flying, trading and fighting.
Why is this useful?
Say you want to give a char to your friend for some time. Whats stopping him from renaming, moving and stealing the char from you? Nothing. But if the given player cannon do any of these things, withou knowing the password, your char is (mostly) safe.
Not only induviduals can benfit from such a feature. Factions can secure their shared accounts.
So what do you think?
Can it be coded? Could this be usefull in any way? Will it open new possibilities like renting ships?
Or is it just an unneeded feature?
If someone wanted to screw you over like that, then I'm sure they'd be just as willing to sell it to an npc for a cheap light fighter and take all the credits.

That you just should better choose friends which you give chars and problem is solved without need of coding and adding another plugin?
Quote:The problem with this would be someone saving a ton of names just to prevent others from getting and using them. That's kinda douchy.
I'm sorry, what?
A password can only be placed after a char is created. So whether or not the char has a password or not, it's name is taken.

It could be coded so that the password whould prevent other actions than renameing or moving. Removing the ability to sell the ship or equipement too.

That with the friend is just an example. And yes I am aware that another plugin can cause lag. Plus the actual coding is work too.
