My name is Ragmon Kernor and I am the second in command of the Order Science Division. I am the head of one of the science teams.
During my research, I have found myself in need of a special alloy. Alloy that you simply cannot buy. I can make such an alloy, but I need the raw materials to do that. Your guild specializes in high risk mining and can obtain the resources necessary, I am sure. There would be good pay for the material (about 20 million per transport) and you would gain the gratitude of The Order. That can be valuable.
For a start we would need: 1 full transport of berillium.
1 transport with lead and iron (scrap as a comodity)
1 transport with half platinum and half niobium.
But if our research proves succesfull, we may need more later.
Any comodity can be raw ore or ingots, I do not care, I can smelt both to get what I want. Please, answer if you can manage to get this and ship it to Omicron Zeta, Mesknet station. All you need to do is to get to Freeport 11 in Omicron Delta, I can show you the way from there and I believe you know the location already. Some alternative routes may be taken, but all are problematic to deal with.
Let me know if you can deal with this or if you need to state your own conditions.
Your message has been relayed to me from the communications hub. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Dr. Kawashima, IMG Head of Production. It is my job to oversee the development and production of IMG material.
Seeing as the Order and the IMG have been on good terms due to cooperation in dealing with Nomad entities in the Taus, I think it is about time IMG paid back for your organization's aid. We'll send the materials over as soon as we can.
I am however, also intrigued by this "alloy" of yours. If it wouldn't be too much of a trouble, I would like to know the properties and its uses. Seeing as it contains lead, it is unlikely to be used in superconductor manufacturing. If the data is classified for whatever reason, then apologies for probing. It's just my little curious self.
The usage and the precise metal mix of the alloy is classified by the Order, all I can say is that it should serve as a shield for high temperatures and against radiation. We still need to test its properties, that is why we are asking only a "small" amount of material.
Everything else about the research is classified for now.
Let me know when you have all the material and your transports ready for the voyage to the Omicron Delta system. I can escort you from there, but it would be wise to use some of your escort forces aswell, as the route is not controled by the houses. As I have said, the payment will be 20 million per transport, that means 60 million total.
Be sure that all members of the convoy are not listed as hostile to the Order from various reasons. The hostility could cause some trouble.
I understand the Order's need for secrecy and will probe no further.
I will try to assemble a team to procure all the necessary materials as soon as possible. It would be nice if a team could meet us in the Omicrons, our organization is not used to operating within that area of space. Escorts for our convoys are always present as per safety protocol.
This was crazy shit, I swear. We are lucky to have made it out intact. For some reason our mission route led us via O80, Alpha, Beta, Eta and then Sigmas, then back into the Omicrons, to Delta then to Zeta.
On the way back, we went through the Tohoku, Chugoku, Nagano corridor, which also was very scary, especially Tohoku looked innocent on the maps. It was not. Definitely.
Anyway, we delivered the full cargo. Your Order Agent can prove it, as can the docking master at the Zeta base.
Departure from Tau 37:
We started off at the Freeport in Tau 37. Everything seemed clear and easy. A mistake to think that.
Passing Omicron Alpha:
An interesting sight, we sped through on a high altitude cruise to avoid detection.
Warship Attack in Omicron Eta:
Jumping in, I was greeted by an Outcast Cruiser and Gunboat that roughened up the Cherry Kiss pretty badly. I managed to get out of range, while Cruiser Razors flew past.
Close Escape:
Eta seems to be a bad warzone. We were engaged by Corsair and Outcast warships, gunboats and in the end even a Dreadnought. It was so bad that I thought my transport was doomed. Only skimming the atmosphere of a planet until the "atmosphere warning" came up, saved me. Later Sunny (from the AFC) saved me by guiding me past 6 Corsair gunboats!
Dropoff of the Cargo in Omicron Zeta at Meskhenet Station:
All transports made it intact, the cargo was delivered to the docking master. We vacated the system afterwards, as ordered by the Order Agent.
Wrong Hole Taken to Unknown System:
Not knowing the route, I passed a jumphole, selected it and jumped. We left after the Order commander told us to move out. Sounded serious, so we complied of course immediately.
Horrible Sight of Planet Toledo and the Isis:
Toledo was a horrible sight. The Order Agent told us the story and informed us about the betrayal of the Core against all of humanity. I'll keep that in mind for the future. Seeing the sight of the volcanic desert left showed how bad the dangers are that lurk out there.
Tohoku Rock Formation
This rock formation looked strange. There seems to be something in that split open rock, but we did not investigate and just hurried through, not taking any more risks.
You were granted passage to Zeta for this deal. And not further.
Don't even come up with that stupid excuse of "Oh, ein unknown jumphole,
must be our way home!"
Are you kidding me? I would expect such brainless behaviour from drunken
corsairs or some drug addicts.
You should have known better! And this also counts for our agent on duty.
As such, there will be consequences:
All IMG vessels are only allowed to travel as far as Omicron Delta.
Any IMG vessel found beyond this border will be boarded,
and its crew taken into custody until further notice
Any resistance to follow ein agent's order will be punished accordingly.
And it also seems like we have to put ein example in our own ranks, but
this shall not your concern.
Remember one thing, miners. The Omicrons are dangerous space, like ein mine field.
One wrong step will let the universe around you explode.
Or how about an even more adequate and more elaborate: "Thank you very much for the dangers you took to get us these materials that had to be collected from all over Sirius and taken through half the known galaxy so we can use them for our research".
That would have been good enough.
No need for anything else after that hell of a flight.
Let me be clear: If I hear that my mistake to select that jumphole and jump in has any consequences for the Order Agent (who could not do anything else but jump and order me and my scout out again), this was the first and last time that I took my people into danger for you.
Seems that despite the stories I heard and what I saw in the Omicrons, you still have too many friends, if you treat those who help you under considerable danger this way. And all of this for a stupid 32 seconds stay after a navigational mistake. How about you take some pills and relax?
Your call, how you want to play it. It's not that you live in the coolest part of space where I love to go on a daily basis. I am not improving my quality of my life by flying things for you, likely I am shortening it a lot by what I am doing for you.
So please do me the favour and be like that, so I have a reason to deny every flight in the future. I haven't risked my crews' lives, braved Corsair warships and Outcast gunboat patrols, Nomads and Wilde to be treated like that for a non-existent problem.
It seems you do not really understand the situation. I have shown you Toledo. You see what can happen to us and what WILL happen to us if we let our guard down for even a second. I worked hard to persuade the Admiral to allow me to bring the IMG to Mesknet and I hoped that they would behave. It seems I have been mistaken.
You have been informed about the jump hole that you used and you have been informed that the system is off limits. You jumped anyway, so you cannot be mad that we are a little bit angry with the Guild for that.
I greatly apreciate what you and your collegues did. It is a great help for my research and through that, it helps humanity to defend itself from the Nomad threat. But, there are still Order regulations that everyone must obey, if they do not, they can get shot.
When the Order helped you in the Taus against Nomads, we did not dock on Java station... just as you asked of us. We fought the Nomads even with all our enemies around. We just ask that you behave the same way when you are in our systems. Next time we cooperate, if there will be a next time, there will be a much bigger escort from our side. And it wont just be there to escort the transports to their destination.
That you for the hard work,
with regards,
Agent Ragmon Kernor.
sorry for the mess and thank you for your help out there.
See: If you need daredevils who do stupidly deadly things that only brainless adrenaline junkies would do in transports, you do not get disciplined soldiers with blind obedience. You get people like me, who like the challenge and who are what they are. Guess how many convoy leaders volunteered for that mission.
So, what I am actually more interested in is: Do they really try to mess with you for that little stunt of mine? Because I mean what I said. That was my call. Nothing you could do.
As for the Taus: Don't make me look up the logs and look for mistakes. Mistakes happen. Always. So what. The results are what counts. Are the resources where they need to be? Yes. Were there shipped there in the time frame? Yes. Was the shipment complete? Yes.
I'll have a shower now. I am not even back 20 minutes and already the complaints come in. Have to grant you one thing: you guys are fast when it comes to complaining.
Anyway, don't let yourself be pissed on by these guys. Was not your fault. See you and thank you again for your help out there.
do not take me for an opressed little agent under the tyrany of the Order Overwatch. All we do we do with a reason. I understand that the stunt we asked of you was not easy... but understand our situation. Ofcourse we are carefull. Where are you from? Where do you live? Java station? How would you feel if one day, someone came and blew it up? Most of your friends and family dead? That is the story of our Order Overwatch. That is why we have rules that are strict. What if you were a wilde? What if you scaned the defence of the Mu jump hole to give info to the Nomads?
Our two worlds are very different, miss Morrow. I live in a world of pain, fighting and peril, where one wrong step may be my last one. And not only mine. My mistake can cause the death of hundreds of agents. My mistake can cause the second Omicron Minor. That is why we have strict rules. You have seen Isis with your own eyes. How would you feel if that hulk was Java station? Or Jakarta Orbital Facility? How would you feel, if the fighter wrecks orbiting the destroyed planet contained the remains of your best friends?
Think about it for a while and maybe you will undestand why The Order is what it is. We walk in the dark, we hide in the dark, we are the dark. Our agents fight every day with an advanced alien race and with humans and with the freaking toasters aswell. I may die tomorow. Or the week after. You can trust noone, anyone can be a LSF agent, a BHG Core spy or a wilde... That is the life that Order agents live. Please, try to understand that.
Think of what we do every day next time you think that hauling ore is hard and dangerous, because sometimes you get pirated. You were attacked today by a warship... that is our daily bread. Think about it.
