The Hege.

The Hege, the Venerable Hege, You see them every day toiling away in the burning fields of Omega 11 or the Frosty clouds of Tau 37. But I must ask why can we not replace it? The Hege is/is not a Vanilla ship. It was a Vanilla solar. Not sure about other people but the hege is just huge, ugly, and cumbersome the engines are way out and make moving through asteroid fields a task in a half. Mining is nearly impossible when NPC are around cause one bumps you next thing you know your a mini barge spinning like it is going out of style.

So Yeah, If someone was to make a model for a hege replacement would the community accept it? Cause I know I am getting tired of it.

Better off using arrastras.

The hegemon, in its current state is very unusable. That too, just for mining in the fields and supplying a PoB right next to it. If we consider transporting, then it is way out of control. Docking in lanes is tougher than docking a cruiser. And one bump from NPCs, while mining/transporting can rotate it a bazillion times.

The model is not ugly, atleast for me. The possible solution is that it can be rescaled to a smaller one.

I wouldn't mind increasing Hege's cargo up a bit along with the price and maybe even adding a smaller miner with ~2k cargo for the current price of the Hege.

Don't make the Hege more attractive. It is a ship that will give newcomers a bad idea how trading looks: hard to enter lanes, easy to bump, damn cheap to kill and useless gun placement. It has everything to make a newcomer thing: "Ah... f this. Why am I bothering?".

The only use for the Hegemon is: mine and supply PoB that is close.
For anything else, it is unsuitable.
And that's actually fine. It's not meant to be a good transport ship, in order to encourage coop playing.

I agree with Jack on what he has suggested. But I am a really good miner and I used to use the Hegemon back in .85 and It was one of my favourite ships off all times.

Right now I hate flying it, It is huge compared to the mining fields. The asteroids are the same size of the Hegemon. The only good use I can see the Hegemon at the moment is.

Doing "Jobs" for PoB's or even using it as a RP Platform. So just use it and sit in a field RPing it that is the only other use I can think of.

I really wish there was something to fix this.

1: Rescale it and make it maybe 25% smaller tahn it now.
2: Change the colour and the weapon/engine placements off it
3: Change the look of it slightly so it was able to move around in asteroid fields.
4: Make it so when bumped you don't spin millions of times and end up 5k from were you were mining.
5: Make it fly able and fun again.
