It used to be very easy to pick up an escort when leaving NY. They were everywhere, and most helpful on my journey. Now, Liberty has seen sit to kick out all the mercs. It's much harder to find an escort outside of NY now that they are all scattered.
This is what I see happening. Yes, there have been a lot of bounties placed on the Navy and LPI and probably more on the LSF than the other two combined. Why is this? There is obviously corruption. I've seen it and I know many of you have seen it. In Texas, the Navy is taking brines from smugglers, and in NY ships like the LNS Brooklyn are harrassing traders because they are bored. Traders get tired of it and since they make plenty of money, they can afford to hire the best in assassins.
So, how do we fix this problem? Do we clean up the corruption in Liberty and a more peaceful environment for everyone? Of course not, that would make too much sense. We will simply ban the mercs from Liberty. After all, a merc who stands to make 5 mil on an illegal mounty would never violate such and order by going into Liberty. :yahoo:
Have you really solved anything? No. Who is suffering here? The lawful mercs who can't find work and the lawful traders who can't get a decent escort anymore. You whine and complain about the pirate activity in NY lately but you don't want to let in the people who can actually help do something about it. No wonder the rest of Sirius is laughin at Linerty.
my merc IG-88 was banned from liberty i tryed to get a contract there.. but i still don't have an ansear from the ln so.. im forced to do unlawful things now for the most part
Ive had enough of disco for now. I might be back at the next mod release.
That is exactly why you can't find an escort. If you are wondering whether the LPI cares about you and your cargo at all, the answer is NO. All they care about is finding something to blow up. Maybe we should issue them all terrorist ID's.
I suggest you mellow that tone of yours, good sir. The mercenary ban had nothing to do with the LPI, it had everything to do with the Liberty Navy. They instated it for good reasons.
Too many times mercenaries have went to the unlawful side and attacked liberty military ships, that sir is why the mercenary ban was instated. Mercenaries cannot and will not be trusted, however one mercenary can earn his/her trust. You could try to attempt contacting the liberty navy high command, you never know.
I understand mercenaries make a big portion of their profit by escorting, but you should understand that when mercenaries side with enemies of liberty, it can not be tolerated. The ban may be lifted soon, as i said if you have no intentions of ever siding with unlawful, then maybe the ban won't be in affect for you, your best bet is to get in contact with navy command officials.
Do not try to fight what has happend, it will only make things worse for yourself.
Isn't the proper course to tag the offending character as a criminal and not penalize all mercenaries?
Assaulting a police or navy officer/vessel should get you on Liberty's "Most Wanted" list--and rightly so.
This doesn't make all mercenaries criminals though.
Being a mercenary is no more risk to Liberty than the a trader being a suspected smuggler. It is someone to watch and be careful with.
Will you ban all traders because one was caught smuggling? Police your own house and of course kick out mercenaries that attempt to collect unlawful pay for attacking your authorities.

This is just to inform everyone that the ban upon mercenary craft is imposed by martial law, and is not enforced by the LPI, so stop pointing fingers at us. The only time LPI ships are to engage mercenaries is when they are in overt or covert hostile action against any LPI, LN, LSF, or trade-ship in Liberty.
We let the Navy do their job, but they can't order us to follow any of their military directives, and we choose not to.
I am Masaru Yoshida, the leader of the Lunar Eclipse mercenary unit. This transmission is not about requesting permission to enter your space. This is about your ban on mercenaries, however. You see, I'm confused. Having been in this line of work for about two decades, it takes a lot to confuse me. Congratulations.
Your ban is a lawful order, backed up by the military. However, any mercenary who would attack you wouldn't care about your orders - they are, after all, out to kill you. You have granted yourself no extra protection, and indeed may have cost yourself some safety by alienating those who might have helped.
Those who would hunt you will not be stopped by you telling them not to. Those who would help are being turned away at the gate.
I cannot see any sound rationale behind this. Right now it just looks like you're paranoid.
I say things are fine as they are. Seeing transport ships without their escorts is good for a change *laughs* . Keep up the good work , Liberty lawfulls!
