All those corporations, civilian pilots, freelancers, whoever else ... could use a little help. Civilian ships are the basic, and very common type. I'd love to see Ships like Falcon, Eagle and such ... available in Liberty, Startrackers and Starblazers in Rheinland, or wherever else. I generally don't like the idea of having to go far off to some Zoner station or another house to buy a simple ship for my simple civilian / citizen character.

Hence the Eagle Infocard:

"The Eagle stands vigil over the economic interests and, therefore, the ideological interests of Liberty. With its maxed-out power rating and reinforced armor plating, it is the most sophisticated and advanced vessel in the Civilian class. All in all, it delivers the maximum defensive potential and punishing offensive firepower that credits can buy."

I would really love to see newcomers fly civilian ships instead of getting a Ravenclaw from Rio Grande.

What do you think?

It could be on some of the freeports in Liberty Borderworlds ( Bering, Magellan, Kepler). But then a ship dealer needs to be added there.

I say we move the current civvie line to Liberty, have it be produced by Ageira, and add in some more civilian lines for the other Houses. The Zoners can be free to use BW ships, and pirate groups that use civilian ships can use their House civilian ships. Of course, that's a very ambitious Idea, and would take a lot of work to implement.

Nice idea.

But the Houses already do produce their own ships, and they do sell the surpluses. ( Drake, Banshee, Cavalier, Patriot ; Dragon, Valkyrie, Crusader, Defender ). Thouse are house-specific ships.

The civilian line is more about cheap ship parts available everywhere, and overall simplicity. Well if some corporation wants to invest in some ship upgrades, why not, but ... they could easily sign a contract with the local military to supply them with high-end ships.

I'd like to keep it simple. Hawks for everyone ...

Ageira won't be producing the civie ships as their line. My hope is that in the future they will be producing their own shipline of Ageira design. Not including the Havok. I don't much like its appearance. however its stats aren't the worst around. Probably be a line designed more specifically for Corporations.. Anyways, hopefully this will all get figured out.

Or we could make a new faction dedicated to making civ ships and bombard it with new ships. Specifically big ships because in reality the only big ships available for civs are liners, transports, and the talarca cruiser.

Been here since Discovery 4.77 (lurk mode engaged)

Zapp Wrote:I have recently met and discussed with Atalawohisdi the trader that flies the Caribe. Just so everyone knows, I engaged in Sigma 13. He flies through half the system before going back to New Berlin, where he cruises from one side of the system to the other, hugging the sun as close as he can. All the while, he flies near Battleships trying to scrape me off. I finally send out the white flag, and move back to Sigma 13. However, it was a ruse, and he bit. Knowing his trade route, I interdicted the trade lane and the chase began anew. It ended, an hour after it began, with me retreating, out of Countermeasures and getting very irritated.

He kept boasting how he has never been caught; I'd like to see him beat until he begs to pay, then beaten some more.

- Best day ever. Cool

While it is true that house systems have their own ship lines, the civilian vessels should be offered in the neutral independent systems a well. Such as Magellan, Bering, Kepler ect. Instead of being offered in one place like the eagle in Omicron Theta.
