So I was on Flood, and I saw a nomad thread. But I had an idea a bit 2serious4flood, so here it is:

(09-26-2014, 04:04 AM)Void_Nemesis_GOF2 Wrote: *blah blah blah* ...And you could have "capture" events where Nomads capture/take control of a system/part of a system, and the human factions have to throw them out over either a few hours, days, or even weeks depending on how many nomads and humans there are. And pushing them out could involve killing a certain amount of NPCs, or destroying objects in space, or a few other things.

So? What do you think? Terrible? Awesome? Or should it be changed to include/remove something else?

I think it would allow for some activity to be spread all over sirius. You may never know where or when the nomnoms strike. I like it

This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.

While the overall Idea would be a great generator of activity and fun, in my opinion, I would like to know some more of your thoughts on it? What do we base the nomads choice on? Where do we want to create the activity? There's some major factors that would need to be considered with this going on.

Well, at first, I though we could have this happen at random in a number of systems. It could not be a very good idea to have a nomad invasion in New York; it wouldn't make sense. Instead, we could base the choice on frontier systems that are not very populated and have the nomads spawn there. A way of preventing a nomad invasion would be to make the program monitor the player activity in a few select systems, and whichever system has the lowest activity will be the one targeted. This not only makes sense, but give player patrols a whole new purpose instead of just looking nice on the activity tracker or afking 30k above the plane. The thing is, this would create temporary activity niches in different border systems, kind of like the old LN vs RM battles in New Hampshire, ect. Except instead of fighting each others, the different factions in the area could be forced to at least stop shooting each other for a time to throw the nomads out. Like that, the activity wouldn't be centered on systems like New York, and it would probably make some very interesting RP.

There is one problem tho, what if they land in house space? Capital house space? That would be like another nomad war.

That's the point though. It would need to be made so that it doesn't happen in inner House space. Both because it wouldn't make sense and because the activity is not needed there.

All this takes is K'Hara logging a swarm of non-crappy ships such as Marduks and Adads, and then going somewhere in a large group.

You're guaranteed to get shot to pieces eventually, which is essentially what these events would come down to anyways.

I was gonna say something along these lines...or...what happens if all of a sudden all the nom indie pvp aces start to log and just kill everyone and then Noms control the system for good?

Not so fun if this happens in a system you control...or has your base in it.
