My name is Benjamin Laowai, many of you know me, an equally large number of you do not. I have the honour and the privilege to sit among the Elders of the Corsair High Council; a body of the most fearless, noble, dangerous and steadfast Corsairs i have had the good fortune to know.
But today, i do not address you as an Elder, Nor as a captain who commands vessels of war leading men and woman into battle. No, today i address you simply as a Corsair.
Many of you do not know my story, and i shan't bore you with it; But that which i say to you now was passed to me by my father, who learned it from his father, and thus, now, i offer it to you all.
Our people now face threats that are numerous and Varied, and yet we do this without fear, safe in the knowledge of our victory. We stand now, on the brink of a unity among our people that we have not seen in a very long time, there is nothing our people cannot do, there is nothing in Sirius, we cannot take and make our own.
It is in this spirit, that i offer you this;
The Creed of our people of Crete:
We are Corsairs. Descendants of the lost crew of Hispania, Children of Crete.
Our struggle has been great and our trials and losses equally so. But forged in the fire and conflict we have risen as the greatest of humanity among the stars. Our people know no fear and we bow to no power other than our own. We are swift and violent in vengeance, yet magnanimous in mercy. The wise fear us; fools die before our wrath.
We lay claim to all that is before us, we take what we need, and we destroy those who stand in our way. Our birthright is the stars in heaven and all that lay among them.
All Corsairs are born with an equal right to glory and wealth. It is the duty of every Corsair to stand by their brother and sister corsairs against their enemies, to aid and defend them in times of need. It is the duty of every Corsair to defend their people and seek to expand their own power, wealth and prosperity, but never before that of the Corsair Nation, for which every Corsair would gladly lay down their lives. It is the duty of every Corsair to expand the power, wealth and glory of the Corsair nation, to write its name in the galaxy in the blood of those who would stand before us..
Our people are of many houses, of many families, we have all struggled and fought to survive, we have each carved our own place among the heavens, yet we say in one voice, resolute and unshakable:
We are all Corsairs.

I am signing here because I recognise in the Creed of the Corsairs something that has been in my heart for all my life.
I wish to stand shoulder to shoulder, as an equal, with all my brothers and sisters of the Corsair Nation in the defence of our beliefs, and interests. To further our aims, to vanquish our enemies and to increase our power throughout Sirius.
I am signing because. Im greedy and vicious. A despoiler and a despot. A scourge to the enemies of my people and a womanising drunkard.
Mostly im signing because despite the above. Im a Corsair and anyone who stands against our creed will find out how ironic the name Gentle Warlord of the OPG really is.
