I think it actually had Corvette as a model before in an older version.
It's actually quite amazing how many models disco has that either were ships from homeworld, or are based on them.

These are the kinds of things I randomly notice, sitting around on my ass at work...

This is because a lot of things back in 4.83 were taken from various games. For example, Corsair battleship (or carrier?) was... Hiigaran Battlecruiser. Current look of the GMG fleet is caused by Taiidani Scout and Bomber. Whale was Rebellion Transport from Star Wars. And so on.

When it comes to knowledge about Disco, I am not that new in fact... :| I was too shy to join Discovery roleplay and mods before 2012.

Nearly everything was an import at/before 4.84

LABC was the Rebel Alliance cruiser or somesuch before hand.

Liberty Carrier was an import until 4.86(7?) I forget where from. Starlancer?

Had a Starfox import too.

Fun times.

I personally liked the old LABC as the rebel starship. If it had been remodeled into something reminiscent of it, that would've been cool.

Instead it became a flying log.
