Looking at going into ship building

Hey one and all, i'm looking at building some models for Discovery, however, sizes and format are beyond me, can anyone point me to where i can get an idea of what sizes these models should be

Also what format do these have to be, I shall most likely be using Flight Sim Design Studion then changing formats around till i get the right format.

any help would be much appreciated.

It seems here that Milkshape3D is the only program that exports to the format that Freelancer uses.
