' Wrote:You have to understand, Igiss has a vision for the long term storylines of the game, and it is not based on the player factions rp. Igiss story doesnt adjust to us, we adjust to his story, thats just the way this goes. Igiss has said he has no plans for a peace between the Order and Liberty, they will remain at war. That being taken into account, who would the leaders of Liberty, let a Battleship manned by their enemies patrol their space, and why would the leadership of the Order allow one of their ships to work for the enemy? I could see a relation building operation.. after a peace was declared, but most groups at war are not worried about how their enemy views them.
All i can say is this. Who cares about the SP part if the disco rp is the founding for the furure. Ofcourse aliances will be made and will be broken. Who knows, maybe in a year or so the Liberty will be working with the Xenos or the Outcasts and the Corsairs will fight off invasions from the marsmellow kindom. The point is that nothing stays the same. If it did it would make the general rp rather bland and linear.

I still don't see why how they can do that (considering they are Police and shouldn't know Minor exists let alone can visit it RP wise). I can understand the Liberty Navy being there but... LSF? Seems a little odd to me.
Does anyone have an RP reason for them being there?
In the year 528 The Order of Cincinnatus convenes to consider the troubling events surrounding the recent t Kusari/Rheinland trade embargo. In an effort to address their perceived vulnerability, a secret shipyard is ordered built in Alaska (now the center of Liberty secret research after the Texas Incident) to pursue the development of a new type of propulsion system. Derived from the latest data decoded from Valhalla 1, this new propulsion system would allow a ship to instantaneously jump across light years without the need for either a gate or trade lane. At the same time, the Order also creates the Liberty Security Force (LSF). Answerable to neither the government nor the military, the LSF is charged with protecting Liberty's interests -- wherever they may be. The Liberty Security Force (LSF) is the intelligence branch of the Liberty Armed Forces, operating in secrecy to ensure the free flow of goods and services in the Liberty economy. The Liberty Security Force was created to bridge the gap between the existing Liberty Navy and Police forces, and to address the growing concern of corruption within the ranks of Liberty organizations caused by recent Nomad incursions. The LSF is specially sanctioned by Liberty Houses and governments to extend their activities outside of the Liberty system borders, in order to gather intelligence and protect against criminals and other external threats.
Despite Igiss saying that we won't have any less hostilities now between The Order and the Liberty House, Tenabras is my external link to helping calm down the tensions between the two. As Fleet Admiral of Black Squadron I and my other commanding officers believe this is the right thing to do. As you may have also noticed we do not raid Alaska. This is to also further reduce tensions. Any LSF or LN ships within the Omicron Minor system will be asked to justify their presence within Order space, and politely asked to leave. If however said ship opens fire upon Order forces (NPCs and players alike), then we will terminate the target with extreme prejudice.
I might be taking Bs| in a far different direction than DBoy had it, but I for one am sick of having to fight on so many fronts, and our war with Liberty would be long forgotten after 17 years. As it will stand, no Bs| ship will enter Alaska, and we will not open fire on LSF or LN ships within Minor unless it is out of self defence.

We are not "Police".
Thank you for posting that, I was looking at the faction info card (in game) and what I got from it is that the LSF are something like the CIA/FBI which seem like police to me. Anyways why would they care what is in Omicron Minor? Or as I have seen before what would they care about in Omicron Major? It just seems like it should be the Navy going out of Liberty's systems and not the LSF.

As an intelligence agency the LSF actually have a wider ZOI (in terms of open =LSF= ships operating in worlds with Liberty jumpgates/holes) than the Liberty Navy do. Certainly when I was more active in the LSF we considered going to Minor and Delta (on rare occasions, with clearance from higher-ups) to be perfectly acceptable given the LSF's in-RP purpose.

Although the CIA is used given that Liberty == America, the LSF both in singleplayer and in the way the faction plays it is more like the KGB. I don't mean "OMG LIBERTY IS TOTALITARIAN!!!!!1!", I just mean in the sense that covert intelligence work is mixed with internal law enforcement and direct military conflict. To return to the more sustainable American analogies, the LSF is essentially the CIA, FBI, and SOCOM combined.
