"Impossible, we checked and double checked the patrols, we should have been safe for at least another month."
"So did we but it appears a small squadron has gotten to the first alert beacon."
"We can't move the ship now, all its power is being used for the chambers."
"Sir, we have managed to store enough energy to get cloak us for a short time, however if we activate it to early, they could still find us."
"What about just attacking with the front guns."
"We might not get many shots off to wipe them, plus if we do engage they will call for backup."
"Not likely, we positioned the ship just outside of the moons orbit but anyone coming around the planet will lose radio contact... I say we wait and see what happens before we do anything first."
"Right, I will alert the staff to remain ready for what you decide."
"Thank you James, you may leave while I prepare stage 5."
James leaves the Dr's office and informs the staff of the current situation, while the Dr. pulls up his computer and begins punching in numbers furiously as data and graphs and meters adjust to the fluctuation of energy levels he is adding. While mid keystroke a red banner appeared on the screen. "Containment levels critical, catastrophic failure imminent"
The Dr. calls James to find out what is going on.
"James, what have you done?"
"Sorry Dr. we aren't gonna sit here and be sitting ducks for the military, I have diverted all power to the engines and we are preparing to take off."
"James, you dont understand if we lose the containment shields...."
"Im done with your sick science Dr. you have crossed the line one to many times and we are done, you will find yourself locked in your chamber as well unable to escape until we make it to port."
"James, watch the shields if they drop..."
*Red lights begin flashing across the ship, and the automated voice system chimes in over the alarms*
"Warning containment shields have been breached, Warning containment shields have been breached."
"Dr.... Whats going on, what...are...they..."
*Screams could be heard by the Dr. through the intercoms*
"They are all doomed, all my experiments free to roam, free to kill... that patrol... if they come aboard... I guess its time for a field test."
The Dr. hits a few buttons and pulls up the video feed across the entire ship, scanning each area, his crew dead, slaughtered and sprawled across the floor. As he scanned he found James in the corner and he saw his blaster on the ground next to him. "Poor James, took your own life instead of facing your own doing."
As he watched his experiments move from room to room he was proud in a sick kinda way, all the years of research and notes paid off.
*Inbound a small patrol party 2.5K away*
The Dr. pulled up a second screen and prepared for the vessels to land and board. He began closing off rooms to guide his experiments to meet them. The ships proceeded to latch onto the vessel and one by one they made it to the boarding room.
"Ahhh, welcome guests sorry about the darkness you see we had some engine trouble but my staff is working to restore power. Please proceed through the double doors and follow the signs to my office."
He watched as they pulled out their guns and walked to the double doors, as the doors opened six of the beasts lunged at the solders and ripped them to shreds, piece by piece. blood and organs spilling out onto the boarding room floor. The Dr. laughed as they devoured each one.
"Its time, my monsters... no my.. children... Are ready to meet their father the one who gave them life and purpose. Soon I will be unstoppable and nothing will stand in my way."
