Greetings
So, lets get the obvious out of the way first. The Colonial Republic has never had an incredibly high opinion of Junkers. The military boys don't bother to keep track of the Slaver Pilgrim's we bust open, or the Freighters smuggling Cardamine. The opinion held is that Junkers are a bunch'a vultures who do a lot of shady dealings with absolutely zero interest what those dealings result in - other than profit.
BUT
I've seen Zoners carrying slaves. And I've seen Law abiding corporations carrying Cardamine. Some slaves we've rescued were taken from Liberty and Bretonian prisons. So theres that.
And in all of this, The Republic has never had any bad experiences with the Congress. And of course - Times are tough, and I wouldn't be lying if I said the Republic needs more opportunities.
So, considering I'm somewhat in charge of a trading organisation that no one up in the brass cares how we make money - I have a proposal for you gentlemen.
We need scrap metal. And we need the money.
I'd like to setup docking permissions for Colonial Mover transports on any of your bases selling scrap metal.
In return, we offer this. I spread some of this money around our military ranks, and make sure the Operations Officers are aware that any Congress Transports heading north with scrap, are actually going to Tau44...
...Regardless of wherever they are going.
Feel free to negotiate some more terms, the channel is open.
I am Adam Wayland, Deputy Arbiter of the Congress.
I was quite surprised to see a message from the Colonials, based on the things you mentioned yourself. However, as we have a common enemy (Gallia), we were also thinking about refreshing relations and establishing business deals.
Your offer is qiute intruguing and seems fair. However, I'd like to know what grade of Scrap metal you need. The regular one, which consists of metal chunks only suitable for smelting and reprocessing, or the higher quality scrap, often called Premium Scrap, which consists of intact ship hull panels, and fixable electronic and mechanical components? The price range also depends on this.
About the sell points: the commonly used sell point we have is located in restricted space, and it is only accessible from the Texas system. I don't think that would be a problem for your Movers, would it?
This business will still have to be discussed in the upper brass (with the help of the information you provide for the questions), so please be patient waiting for our final answer.
yeah, thats what we need - Premium Scrap. Interesting that junk is graded, but I'm not at all surprised - and its makes the job easier.
This war is chewing everyone up, and damn fast. The Republic does anything and everything it can - and let me tell you, we've pissed the gauls off something fierce - but they do have one thing we don't have: an endless logistic supply.
We need to rebuild ships. The Nyx is a wonderful piece of engineering, mostly because it does a helluva job just being engines and metal - its remarkably uncomplicated. With a supply of Premium Scrap, we can make more, and keep the ones we've got up and running.
As for the Movers - if your sell-point lies beyond the pucker of the Puerto Rico jumphole, then it isn't a problem for us - believe me, Movers move, anywhere. If you have a sellpoint, we'd like docking permission - plus a general agreement that whenever you fella's are pickin' over the wrecks, we can hang around - get the goods directly from the vine.
Docking Identifiers: CR|-CM
Thats the Movers - only ones which would be docking.
I'm glad your on board. Now lets go get some work done.
Greetings, Mr. Flynn.
We discussed this matter, and we established the way we will make this deal. I think you know the mining base called Saltese in Humboldt. We will move the Premium Scrap there after collecting and sorting it, and your Movers can haul it from the base. I think this way will be easier for both of us.
You mentioned you also might get the Premium Scrap directly from the source in Texas. For this, we can grant your Movers permission to cross Puerto Rico from Humboldt to Texas. However, your area of movement for now is restricted to the flight path directly connecting the Humboldt jumphole and Texas jumphole. This permission only applies to Mover ships bearing the CR|-CM identification. You also need at least neutral IFF setting to Junker Guard assets for this route; DO NOT attempt to enter Puerto Rico with Hostile IFF setting. Or, you can move to Texas through Cortez and California; I think this might even be a bit faster, but it is your call.
Now, about the price. We are selling the Premium Scrap on Saltese for 3000 credits per unit. This includes the collectors' fee, and the fee for sorting and transporting. I think this price is feasible considering the increase of enemy activity in the scrap fields lately.
Your ships are already registered on Saltese, so you can come and take the Scrap any time. The base buys Reinforced Alloy for 1000 credits per unit, so that might be a good commodity to haul back (please note, if the base sells Reinforced Alloy, it indicates it does not need any more). If you have any questions and issues, feel free to contact us. This channel remains open, so you can also notify us if the base runs out of Premium Scrap.
