Would it be possible to multi-box with the sole purpose of putting a camera-ship on record in formation with myself. I think it would make some nice filming.

Would like to know where multi-box rule lies when it comes to a ship that doesn't exist inRP and is only used for filming/motion capture

Multiboxing isn't allowed, period.

Press H and zoom out, you can get some great shots. Also you can turn off the HUD.

it would make an interesting camera angle, and would give a huge boost to fps on the main character as it wouldn't have to do fraps duty.

i understand that the multi-box rule is there for a reason (people using multiple transports, miners, etc) but this isn't one of those times

I do not see how the fps boost to one char is important in this scenario, whichever PC is used (because I'm assuming you intended to do this on 2 separate PC's otherwise having two instances of Freelancer open and Fraps/other recording software on one PC would be silly and harm FPS) for the filming would still suffer from an FPS loss no matter what, which would possibly effect the film quality.

Instead just open FL on the best computer and Log onto the Camera ship and record other people/form on npc's.
Alternatively ask someone with a good upload speed to film your ship whilst they sit in formation with yourself.

If you need to coordinate with the other person quickly just use something like Team Speak or Skype to talk to them.

Any type of multi-boxing (a large amount of which is actually caught by the anti-cheat software) is against the rules and most of the times is a ban/heavy sanction from the admins.

As others have stated, there's honestly no necessary reason for multi-boxing that couldn't be solved by getting another player to help you out.

I see how this can be useful, but I will tell you about something that I, sadly, cannot really prove, but still would like to give a heads up just in case.

Having a ship like that planted outside a planet just to make sure that lawful players aren't around, just so one can flop their zoner whale full of cardi down on it- is a bad idea.

Just to make sure it is 100% clear from us greens - Multiboxing, in any fashion, is not allowed.

I was always curious, how does it work as two players share the router at the same time?

I'm pretty sure that the anti-cheat software will detect two players using the same router at the same time as multi-boxing. If this is the case with anyone, just PM an admin prior to playing to let them know.

Tis fine. Been flying solo camera for a while. Will just carry on the same.

The increase in fps is meant to benefit the fighter, not the camera, as you could fight at 120fps while recording 60.

Is there a program other than fraps that deosn't limit fps? Pc has no problem running it.

on the topic of multiple people in one house, me and family and friends do this all the time.

We haven't been multibox autokicked since 4.84, and that was router issues.

I must state clearly: I NEVER multibox.
I was simply curious about this application of it
