Re: Contravention of Bretonian Charter, Section 3.1 [as defined in Section 3.3]
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to inform you that my ship (SFMC|Starswine) inadvertently transported Med Stasis Bands (MSBs) in contravention of Section 3.1 of the Bretonian Charter of Interstellar Law.
We had heard that there was a shortage of these devices on the Liberty war-front with Rheinland, and as such acquired MSBs for transport to Liberty Forces upon seeing them available at Cambridge Research Station.
During transit I was reviewing Bretonian Law and noticed the inclusion of MSBs in the Partially Restricted Goods List [Section 3.3]. Upon realising that we had broken Bretonian Law our course was immediately redirected from Liberty to the nearest BPA base (Kingston Border Station) in order to hand over the MSBs to the appropriate authorities.
I have included transit records of the return of the MSBs to the BPA:
I understand that ignorance is no excuse for contravention of Bretonian Law, but request your understanding in this matter. I would like to pay the applicable fine of $1.5 million for transportation of between 2,000 and 3,000 units, in line with the "Bretonian Restricted Goods Licensing" document.
If the fine amount is incorrect, or you wish to take further action in regards to the above, please contact me directly with further details.
Otherwise please provide me with details of the account I should forward payment of the fine to.
I hope this will not affect my ability to travel freely within Bretonian space, and will in future ensure that relevant licences are obtained before transportation of similarly restricted goods.
Having reviewed your Case we have decided to, in light of you coming forward of your own volition, to be lenient. We will expect the fine of 100, 000 Credits to be paid for this infraction.
The money must be paid to either of our Accountants: BPA)Gerald.King[CCD] or BPA)Rose.Eddings[CCD].
Once this has been paid we will count this case as closed.
In the meantime, if you require to purchase the required Licence, please contact the below Department:
I am grateful for your leniency in regards to my infraction of Bretonia law.
I have made prompt payment of the requested amount, please find my transaction reciept here: <<Transaction Reciept 1501822>>
I will review current requirements for med stasis bands in the meantime and apply for licencing as appropriate.
Please note that the listing for Med-Stasis Bands in section 3.3 of your laws is misspelled, this may provide a legal loophole for unscrupulous individuals to escape prosecution in the event of being caught with this product.
Again, thank you very much for your understanding in this matter.
