Make different kinds of equip-able crew members for specific stuff. Example: Gunner increases energy reg, a cargo loader increases cargo space, egg heads that expands radar range or whatever. Drops upon ship destruction perhaps?

While a good idea, the programming for such is a royal pain.
However stuff like this was talked about before, relating to capturing player ships, I can't find the thread but something like this was related to it
We had this already plenty times before, sometimes ideas for PoBs sometimes for Playerships, they never got worked on. Because the effort you would put into these is just to much for what you get from it, really.
It's cool but on the same side it's waste of donuts&developing time.
As far as the drop on destruction, there are plenty of "objects" you can carry that fulfill that, but you risk another iteration of the, "how much crew" arguments.
