' Wrote:[*] Ship series ban

On the same note, The following ships series, regardless who is flying them, are banned from Liberty:
  • Rheinland Military Vessels
  • Outcast Vessels
  • Corsairs Vessels
  • Rogue Vessels
  • Lane Hacker Vessels
  • Order Vessels
  • Nomad Vessels
  • Huntress Cruiser
  • Talarca Cruiser
Entering territory with those ships will be illegal and the offender will have to leave the governement space

Above is a list of the banned ship series' from Liberty.

Now I don't want to rant but I have a character that flies a Rheinland ship that is a strcitly lawful Freelancing pilot. I rely on my income from traders who hire me as an escort to pay the bills. And we all know that since New York and the Liberty systems amongst the most player populated in Sirius, so i'm likley to go there for business as much if not more as everwhere else.

#1. I can understand why Liberty is so p*ssed off with Rheinland but this ^^^ is just really nit picky. By doing this they are not putting any pressure on Rheinland whatsoever, but on civilian pilots and friendly trading companies. I hope that some Liberty pilots may agree with me since there really is no Logic in banning Rheinland made ships.

#2. Just because a ship is made in Rheinland does nat make it a Rheinland pilot/player.

#3. The embargo's fine, it's a strictly political method of cutting Liberties ties to Rheinland. But banning their ships is just stupid.

Finally, I recommend that we should go back to the way it used to be done. Where the Liberty forces scan for ID. And if it's a Republican/Kruger etc. Company then send them back to where they came from. But if it's a civilian it shouldnt be treated any differently than an ordinary Civilian/Liberty/Bretonian/Kusari ship.

I hope you will understand where i'm coming from.

'Ash

Agreed on this one, it's actually very annoying to see all Rheinland ships banned just because there's an embargo between the two houses. It's limiting people's freedom and their roleplay.
Also, what's actually defined as "outcast vessels", Sabres and the like are BW ships, even the FL npcs fly them.

If you check the readme included in the 4.84 mod, you'll find that Igiss created the hostilities between Rhienland and Liberty. The Embargo was an RP follow up.

If 2 countries are hostile and have an Embergo against each other, why would they let random tanks roll right on through their country?

And secondly, if you're a freelancer, like to explain why the Rhienland military, with it's reduced fleet after the Nomad War, would sell you a Gunboat? Might want to think about that.

Finally, it sound's like you picked it becuase it's possibly the best GB in the game, so it's a PvP vessel... That won't go down well on the forums.

Just some point's for you to think about.

in RP response : "So you are admitting that you have financed the Rheinland Military?"

Some of the ships listed there were banned because I have never seen anything else than an enemy using them, or turning on us (especially the Talarca and huntress.

We are on the edge of a war. This is the least you could expect. and yes, Liberty is paranoid about stuff:)

Seth

... If that were true, there would be more than two almost inactive gunboats in the RM... We all fly our Wraths and Snubs, thank you. It's hardly overpowered...

Added: I don't see a mention of a GunBoat anywhere in the first post...all it says is Rheinland ship.

I can understand the paranoia, but isn't there someone out there putting the brakes on a lot of this so-called in-RP limiting of pretty much everything on the server? Pretty soon no one anything larger than a starflyer will have access to New York...Notice i did NOT say Liberty, but just New York...except for the LN, LNS, LSF and a few close-personal friends.

I'm not saying don't make some rules for your systems...god knows everyone who owns one does, but cut the PLAYERS a little slack. Yeah, pirate raping parties aren't fun to deal with, especially when they wait until 2-3 of you are online only, but it's better than a starflea free-for-all.

I made that part of the rules. This is part of the RP of an escalation of tension between both nations.

I don't care if you have a special RP pretty much. Special RP is just to protect people from getting sanctionned... RP involves dealing with others, which in this case is us. In Discovery, on the server, you can't go around and expect everyone to be neutral or friendly with your RP...

EDIT2: heck, I once went with a transport (ln tagged and IDed) in Rheinland, they kicked me out, even if, I was not dangerous ((Trader full of guns)). because they were following their RP, and interacting with me.

the reason we have this ban is so we can be assured that people coming into Liberty aren't being backed by Rhienland, as Seth put it, RL countries today wouldn't let random tanks wander into their borders, so why should we?

Also, if you want to come in with a Freelancer, choose a different ship.

Also, if Liberty is such a s***hole, why do you want to go there?

I wouldn't call a lone Rheinland ship a "tank", it's not like they pose much of a threat, especially if they don't even carry a Rheinland ID or IFF. I can understand why bigger ships are not allowed, but come on, banning a freighter or a regular fighter because it might start shooting at you?
