Subject: Junction wreck, Kansas system
To Whom it May Concern:
I have recently been investigating the Junction wreck in the Kansas system with a mind toward salvaging and refurbishment for use as an international research station.
In the process of researching the station and the system, I determined that Liberty attempted to perform this same act in the year 818.
Under Admiralty law, the wreck, being abandoned in independent territory, should be open to whomever can lay claim to it. However, I am looking to avoid conflicts, both territorial and real property claims. As a result, I would like to know if the Republic still lays claim to the station.
If that is the case, I would be most interested in knowing what conditions would need to be met to release your claim over to me.
I look forward to your response. Thank you for your time in addressing this matter.
Thank you for your inquiry. The Republic of Liberty does not lay claim to the "Junction" wreck in the Kansas system at this time.
The last recorded occupants of the Kansas system were the Natio Octavarium, and their private militia, the Vagrant Raiders. Contact has since been lost with their colony on Planet Wichita. The Republic advises civilian travel in the area to take extra precautions due to known criminal and terrorist elements having traveled through the system in previous months.
