A communications operator from Segre Outpost suddenly picks up a comms fluctuation on his computer. Funny, he thought to himself, there were no ships going about at that hour. Maybe it was a message from another station?
At first he thought none of it. He opened up the interface and was just about to open the transmission, when he noticed something strange about it, particularly its origin-point. Looking at the signal address, his eyes widened in shock.
The signal came from the Sealed Jump Gate.
How could this possibly be? There's no way that thing can relay anything from the other side, it's as sealed as sealed can be, he frantically thought to himself.
But there it was. The transmission still rang on his computer, impatiently buzzing him to pick it up.
Cold sweat began to run down his face. What was he supposed to do? The training manuals didn't cover this, since it was fundamentally impossible for a sealed gate to transmit anything. So how...?
The transmission rang again, possibly for the upteenth time. He thought about calling his superiors about this, but... but what if...
With shaking hands, he slowly motioned his fingers over the receive transmission button.
What is spoilerboxed here is an artist's rendering of the transmission the operator saw on his optronics screen, made during his interrogation by GRP operatives in Segre Outpost on 20 March, 738 A.G.S. at 22:34 hours.
Caution is advised... not long after the interrogation, the operator suddenly vanished, and all records of him seemed to have been erased, like he never even existed.
