So.. I was scouting round up past Chugoku I think and heading round to Omicron 85 or Omicronn major way

and I hit this system which was largely empty and instead of the starry space graphics I got this huge sort of alient surface.. as if I was flyig over a huge alien mschine spread across the entire system.. also a few nomads were zooming round..

its very nice but ---- could someone explain what it is and why it is there?

i have discovery open sp enabled and of course i cant get past mission 4:(so have no real idea what that space machine thingy is. I do know that in the end trent joins the order and maybe they stoop the nomads or something.

Why don't-cha disable Discovery for a week and play the original SP? You'll forget all about Discovery, the single player storyline is excellent.

I've disabled and reactivated Discovery more times than I'll ever remember.. It won't harm the mod. Thats why FLMM is used in the first place. Go download a .exe crack for Freelancer, disable Discovery, replace the .exe file in the Microsoft Games/Freelancer/EXE folder. Start up the game and play the SP Campaign. Or keep Discovery activated, go to My Documents/My Games/PerfOptions.ini. Go to the line with DIFFICULTY_SCALE: 1.00. Change the value to 0.25 or 0.5.

And PLEASE stop with so many questions. I've not found a single thread made by you that isn't a thread asking for us to give a spoiler to you or explain something.. There IS a search feature on the forums, and there is such a thing as finding out on your own.. Most of your questions are able to be answered by an hour of playing Discovery.

*sigh*, you should really play the singleplayer.

anyhow:

<SPOILER ALERT>

That's the outside of the dyson sphere, the inside is reached through another jump hole in a location I wont reveal. The dyson sphere was a giant, "man"-made artificial planet created by the daam k'vosh, the same alien race that 'created' the nomads. The outside just looks like a big metal surface, but the inside wall is covered in actual landscaping, like trees/rivers/grass/etc. The inside of the dyson sphere contains a star, along with a giant control structure at it's center that may also be a nomad lair/city.

Just cheat to beat the SP campaign with Disco, nothing more exhilarating then playing through the missions with a starflea with a level 10 shields, a full codename loadout and an infinite power supply.

wow thats cool.. makes we want to go visit it more. thanks !

Dab and others: I don't really like SP so.. its like many books i read. I just skim read and ask people for the ending. I wouldnt have known what to search for on forums to find out what that thing was in space and reading a walkthrough -- well it would take too long to decipher. so asking on forums is the fastest way to find out. Real lazy pirate personality.

Take not that if you arent an order player, and we find you there, we will kick you out =P

Nomad systems are dangerous, we cant afford the risk of other ships getting infected and then spreading that infection to the rest of Sirius.

:dry:I see...

Actually, there's nothing more exhilarating than getting to mission 4 (with the stupid cruiser that fires on you in the cutscene...) in a Patriot. Then you put admin shields and guns on your ship after getting pissed off by the cruiser, and KILL EVERYTHING. :crazy::crazy::crazy:
